The three of them just stared at each other in silence. There was no anger or shock in Clint's eyes as he casually sipped a mug of coffee. Jack glanced at Peter, and the wall-crawler shrugged. Mr.Stark had sent them to find someone, with no way of knowing that someone would be a former Avenger.

Or did he?

"So, let me just start off by saying that I'm a big fan of yours," Jack started, breaking the awkward quiet, holding up a hand, "or I was, but I still think you're pretty cool."

Clint raised an eyebrow, cracking a small smile, and he looked at Peter. He gestured with his mug toward the web-slinger, remarking, "nice suit."

"Uh, um, thanks-thank you," Peter stammered, his utter perplexity making him stutter.

"We've been watching Stark's drones for a while now," Clint said, looking back at Jack, "I didn't think they'd send a teenager and his dog."

Jack frowned, a growl rumbling from deep in his throat, and the sharp-shooting Avenger quickly added, "I saw what you did on the news though. That was cool."

"I'm sorry, but who's we?" Peter asked, trying to sort out what the heck was going on.

Suddenly, a red mist appeared around Jack, encasing him in a sparkling scarlet haze. He was completely frozen, and unable to move. The lycan shot Peter a confused look before he was flung backward against the wall. Peter moved to help him but was also frozen in place, his body being manipulated against him as he was pinned inside a red haze.

Clint looked at him and laughed slightly as another person appeared, holding both hands out toward him. She had dark red hair and dark eyes, and Peter could've sworn he remembered her. Was she there at the battle in Germany?

"Come on, Wanda," Clint said, his tone still casual, "there's no need for that."

"Quite frankly, I'm fine like this," Jack pointed out, his blue gaze locked at the red-haired girl, who couldn't have been much older than both of the boys, maybe 18 or so. Jack's eyes were alight with something Peter couldn't pinpoint, and he wondered why his friend was looking at the newcomer in such a way.

"Well, you won't be once I crush your bones," Wanda said with a thick Russian accent. Jack's expression didn't waver at her threat.

"I'd consider it an honor," Jack said, his ears flicking forward. Peter almost rolled his eyes into the next dimension. Was this really a good time to flirt? Wanda returned his remark with a look of indifference.

"Let them go," Clint chuckled, nodding to the girl. She scowled but promptly released them, Jack barely moving though his shoulders seemed to relax. Peter almost fell to his knees when the pressure disappeared.

"You know, I always thought you were awesome," Jack admitted, pushing himself off the wall and cracking one of his signature gold-toothed side smiles, "with the whole magic telekinesis thing you got going on, it's pretty cool."

"What are you doing here?" Wanda asked, "did Tony send you?"

"Uh, yeah, but he said we were looking for... someone," Peter pointed out, casting a look toward Jack.

"Hmm, I can only assume that someone was us," Clint said before focusing in on Jack, "and you? You're the one that was bad but is now good?"

"Yup, that would be me," Jack said with an embarrassed laugh, scratching the back of his head, "there's a long story there."

"Don't worry. I've had my experience with mind control," the superhero archer pointed out, "I know it's no picnic."

"But he's with us now," Peter put in, laying a hand on Jack's shoulder as the werewolf walked over to him, "he's a good guy."
