"They couldn't have picked a better time," Peter mused as he stood in front of the jewelry store with Jack. A group of criminals had broken in, and the alarm was blaring loudly. But the two friends weren't in a hurry. They waited patiently, watching as the group bustled to load all the jewels and other shiny things into their duffel bags. One of the thugs was using a weird kind of large taser gun to take out the cameras. It reminded Peter of the weapons the Vulture used to sell.

"Snowy time is thieving time," Jack said with a nod, "how many we looking at, Karen?"

I'm picking up five heartbeats inside. Tell Jack I like it when he addresses me.

"She sees five of them, and she also says to tell you I'm the better superhero," Peter reported with a masked grin.

That's not what I said.

"I love you too, Karen," Jack laughed, and he folded his arms across his chest. They waited for a few more seconds before he pointed out, "we should probably stop them at some point."

"Yeah, I guess so," the webslinger agreed. He held his hand out to the door that had been smashed open,"you want first dibs?"

"Nah, it's all you, Spider," Jack declined with a tip of his head, "space is a bit tight for me. Besides, I have a song stuck in my head and you don't want me singing the chorus when we take these guys down."

"When has that ever stopped you?" Peter asked, crossing his arms, "you stopped a car chase while singing a DNCE song."

The werewolf lightly hit his knuckles against his friend's shoulder. "You got me there."

Peter then leapt through the broken window. The criminals didn't notice him immediately, and Peter could only see four of them. Karen said there were five. Paying no mind to it, he took the few seconds he had to think of something witty. "This is why you shouldn't put off Christmas shopping so late."

They all turned to look at him.

"Desperate times call for desperate measures, amiright?"

It was then that he realized one of them had a gun.

Peter webbed up the thug's pistol before he even had time to raise it, throwing it back into his face. Two of the criminals then charged at Peter with wrenches, but he easily fended off their attacks as he tossed them aside. All the while he was working, he was able to pick up Jack singing to himself outside, it being extra loud because the werewolf forgot to turn his earpiece off.

"All the things that we've been told, we will never let them go!" His friend sang pretty loudly. One could probably hear him over the sirens going off, "all the dreams from rust to gold, we will never let them beat us!"

"Wolf!" Peter scolded, and the singing ceased.

The one with the gun then picked back up his weapon after tearing the webbing off, and like before, Peter had it webbed before he could aim it. He threw it toward the ceiling, and it went off with a bang, the bullet narrowly missing his shoulder. The failed gunman then tried to make a break for the door, but was stopped when Jack barreled in, roaring fiercely. He knocked the criminal aside, and he looked around in a panic.

"Spider!" He called, "you hit?!"

"I'm good!" Peter responded, and Jack looked over to him, an expression of relief taking over his features. He looked around before approached him, and they bumped fists victoriously, proud of foiling a robbery. All they had to do now was wait for the police, but with the roads being so bad, that might take a while.

That was only three, Peter thought inwardly, Karen said there were five.

There was then a crackling sound of electricity, and Peter saw the thug with the taser gun stand up from behind his hiding place. They then fired their weapon at the webslinger, but Jack was quick enough to reach his arm out across Peter and have himself take the little electric darts instead. The werewolf grimaced, releasing a pained shriek before falling into a twitching mass to the ground.
