I was lost in the spin of the washing machine, spacing out into thoughts of nothing when a slam made me jerk. I turned in my seat to see that Lea had brought down a third laundry basket and had dropped it onto the table next to me.

"You and Kenzie have too many black clothes." Lea mutters as she glances from her pile of colorful clothing to mine and Mackenzie's monochrome collection.

"It's impossible to have too much black." Mackenzie sasses as she loads up the dryer.

"You say that now, but every time you start rifling around looking for a specific thing, suddenly you hate it." Lea points out as she moves to start refilling the washing machine.

I shift my eyes over to see Mackenzie sticking her tongue out at her before continuing with putting change in the dryer. I chuckle and turn back to see if Lea had noticed, but she was busy searching the pockets for anything we might have forgot. She freezes in place when she pulls a slip of paper out of my jeans. I instantly recall what was written on that note and I became nervous.

Her brown eyes slowly rose to my face as she turned the paper in my direction. I peeked at the neat lettering of Chris's handwriting as Lea questioned, "Is this from that guy you met at that BDSM club?"

I opened my mouth the deny it, or to point out that I had planned on getting rid of it, but Mackenzie beat me to it.

"It was honestly one of the craziest things I've ever seen! It was like they were meant to run into each other again." She gushed, clearly unaware of the tension now in the room.

"So, it was him? You ran into him at the concert too?"

"Yep." She states sliding over to wrap her arms around my shoulders. "Our little Amber has the attention of a guy in a rock band. I feel sort of like a proud mother."

I couldn't resist chuckling momentarily, until I saw the expression on Lea's face darken. Mackenzie's hold on me loosened, now even she could tell that Lea wasn't pleased.

"So, he's in a band on top of the weird fetish shit? Are you seriously interested in that creep? Even after how forward he was being even though you two had just met?"

Mackenzie cut in to point out, "Well, you all were in a place that caters to 'weird fetish shit'."

"His behavior isn't my main issue with all of this." She retorts and turns her focus to me. "Since when did it strike you as a good idea to get involved in something like that again? And don't you think that it's strange that he managed to find you so soon?"

"I mean, we technically ran into him..." Mackenzie murmured, but neither I nor Lea were listening.

My eyebrows scrunched together. "What do you mean by again? I've never been around anything like that in my life."

"But you have to know that shit is just an excuse for people to hurt others."

I tried to butt into her ranting, "I didn't even plan on calling..."

"Do you want another Matt?"

My jaw dropped and it felt as if she had smacked me in the face. I rose to my feet, anger causing me to shake slightly as tears dampened my eyes.

Mackenzie gasped before her voice came out hard, "That was uncalled for."

Lea continued to speak despite our reactions, "I'm just trying to look out for her. I don't want to see her make the same mistake twice."

"Are you serious?" Mackenzie demanded, "You don't even know the guy!"

"Neither do you two!"

I couldn't stand to hear them argue over me any longer, much less about something they didn't understand. I rounded the table between us and plucked the number out of her fingers growling, "I wasn't even going to contact him, but I think you might have just persuaded me otherwise. I'm in the mood to make another mistake."
