Long lost best friend

Dan and I have known each other for about 16 years now. We were both 6 years old. We met in 1st grade. He came up to me to make sure I was okay after I feel down on the playground. After that we became best friends. I was with Dan all through his Beginning youtube, his college drop out, his embarrassing moments, I have stuck by him. I was one of the last people he seen before moving away. We promised to stay in touch. It has officially been 4 years since I seen him last. I miss him. I've obviously seen him on the Internet and social media but I want to hug him again. I hope he didn't forget about me cause I sure as hell didn't forget about him. I fell in love with him when we were 13. He of course didn't know, and I don't plan on telling him anytime soon cause I'm still in love with him. All those 4 years.

I had just gotten home from work when my phone starts blowing up with notifications. I confusingly go on my Twitter and see what all the fuss is about. Dan. He tweeted a throw back Thursday of us! He remembers!? Just then I get a DM. I open it up and it's from him

D- Hey! I know it's been a long time and you probably might not remember me but I hope you do. I've been thinking about you lately after going through my phone and seen tons of pictures of us. I really would like to get to see you again and catch up. I miss you (Y/N) I really do.

Y- YES of course! I haven't stopped thinking about you and I miss you so much too! I hope I don't sound weird haha. Meet me at the cafe here. I still live in the same town:)

D- great! Ill be there for a phot shoot for some new merch my friend Phil and I are launching soon so when I have a day off while I'm here I'll DM you and we can hang!

Y- sounds like a plan:) I'm so excited!

Two days later, Dan DM'ed me again and said to meet me at the coffee shop in a half hour. I'm so nervous I'm shaking! But I'm also excited to see my old best friend!
It's been a half hour and I'm currently walking there since it's only a couple blocks away. As soon as I walk in I see him. He looks up and sees me. He has a huge smile on his face. He gets up and I run over to him and hug him the tightest I've ever hugged someone.

'It's really you' I say

'Yeah, and it's really you' he says. We both laugh. We sit down after hugging and talk. Catch up.

'So umm...(Y/N)?' Dan says scratching the back of his neck.

'Yeah?' I say.

'I know it's been a long time since we saw each other and I would really like to see you again. So I was wondering if you would go on a date with me? I know it's been so long but I have really missed you and not a day went by where I haven't thought of you. In my bedroom I have a picture of us when we were young. Gosh I just have missed you (Y/N). I'm sure you seen me online. Please will you go one a date with me?' Dan says sympathetically. I get a huge smile on my face.

'Of course Dan!' I say hugging him again. With that we walk to my house and I show him everything in my home. Before he leaves he kisses me. Oh how I've wanted to do that for a long time.
