"I thought that angels were supposed to be the good guys."

Jimin's voice trembled, his shaking hands cupping Jungkook's face. It was so difficult to get used to the new eye colour, the shining silver irises that he now donned made him seem so ethereal. Like he didn't belong any other place except in the clouds where he was created. "I was always told, angels protect. Angels keep people safe. You know? Guardian angels? I thought you were supposed to be gentle?"

"I'm not a guardian angel, Jimin." Jungkook sighed, bringing his hand up and resting it atop Jimin's. He curled his fingers around Jimin's hand, trying his very hardest to calm him down. "There are so many different ranks up there. Guardian angels are some of the most important, being given the fulfilling job of keeping humans protected." Jimin nodded, closing his eyes and simply attempting to enjoy to warmth of Jungkook's hand.

"There's one rank above them though, usually given the grittiest of jobs, the most taxing, but also the most important." Jungkook continued. "I, am part of that rank."

"Yeah, fucking archangels." The devil spat out the words as if they were venom, a scowl on her lips as she stared at Jungkook's almost regal appearance. He was sparkling and adorned in gold, looking downright show-stopping. "Don't try and think that you're important simply because of the title and wings that you were given. I was once where you were. Was God's right hand man, would do anything that he asked because dare I say that I lo-" She paused. "That I was attached to him."

It was so silent that you could hear a pin drop, the weight of the devil's words quickly settling on everyone's shoulders. "He said to me, 'You were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty'. Told me that apart from the holy trinity, I was the highest being."

Tears wet the devil's eyes, something that nobody had ever seen before.

"But then, I disagreed." She continued. "That's all I did! Disagreed! Told him that this human race he had created wasn't worth his time, and he said that I was 'challenging his power'." She scoffed, shaking her head. "Do you truly think that you're important to him? Because I hope that you don't. One wrong move and you'll end up like me, wings ripped off permanently and cursed to a life of damnation."

Jungkook gulped, his wings folding back as he cowered away from her. He knew what had happened to her, everybody did, and it was the reason that all of the angels were constantly walking on eggshells.

"Jungkook." Jimin sighed, reaching up and running his hands through the angel's hair. "I don't care what kind of angel you are. It really doesn't matter in my opinion." Soft pink strands slipped through his fingers. "I just need you to be honest with me. You didn't even answer what I asked you."

Jungkook gulped, attempting to avert his gaze from Jimin's, but it was so hard with how close they were. He hated to say it, and he was trying his best to suppress it, but he still ached for Jimin. As a human, he fell in love with him. As a demon, he longed for him.

As an angel, he fell in love all over again.

Because it was absolutely impossible, after all of the memories and moments that they shared together, to simply leave him just because the plan was over. He was attached. Jimin had his entire heart in his hands, and he cradled it. Treated it as if it were the most valuable thing in the world.

"You asked me if I was being genuine in my actions." Jungkook spoke, Jimin nodding slowly in response. "And I'm going to have to tell you that I just don't know."

Jimin's expression dropped, which was completely understandable considering the information that was being given to him. "However, I don't want that to make you believe that I don't love you. I don't ever want you to believe that, because that isn't true."

Jimin furrowed his eyebrows, as if he was confused by Jungkook's words.

"How can you say that, if you just told me that you can't even be sure if your actions were genuine or not?" He asked, eyes glassy. "I don't need you to lie, just to keep my feelings intact. Just tell me if you never loved me. It'll hurt less than you dragging it on like this."

Jungkook shook his head frantically, leaning forwards and pressing a tender kiss to Jimin's forehead. His wings unfurled, reaching around and cocooning both him and Jimin within them.

The conversation was suddenly was suddenly much more intimate, their words and actions hidden behind the feathery shield that Jungkook had created around them. Jimin couldn't help but gasp, feeling some of the soft feathers tickle his arms.

"I love you." Jungkook whispered, his breath brushing against Jimin's lips. They were so close.

Jimin shook his head, squeezing his eyes shut.

"You're lying." He mumbled out, yet he didn't flinch when Jungkook's warm hands curled around his own. How could he? It was so familiar and comfortable.

"Jimin. Open your eyes and look at me, baby." Jimin wanted to cry. With his eyes closed, and Jungkook calling him by such a familiar name, it was as if Jungkook had never changed. He really didn't want to open his eyes, because it felt so nice to live in the past for a little bit.

But he did, because Jungkook's voice always made him weak.

His bottom lip quivered, blinking back tears as he stared into Jungkook's eyes.

"Jimin, I love you." Jungkook breathed, his voice dripping with emotion. "I love you, I love you, I love you. I'll say it as many times as I have to in order to get you to believe me when I do." He leaned forwards, pressing his forehead to Jimin's. "I know that everything I did was a plan, but I also know that the feelings I ended up developing towards you haven't gone away."

Jimin sniffled, cautiously bringing his hands up to rest around Jungkook's neck. "If the love I feel towards you was only a part of the plan that God set out for me, then why do I still crave you? Why do you still have such a strong grip on my heart?" Jimin took in a shaky breath, trying his best to maintain eye contact. "If my love was fake, it would have washed away in the water along with everything else."

"I loved you as a human." Jungkook continued. "I still loved you as a demon, and now as I stand before you as an angel, I love you more than ever."

Jimin played with the hairs at the nape of Jungkook's neck, heart beating quickly as he soaked in the younger's words. "Every single thing about me was a lie, who I was, my past, my age - but the one thing that remains true is my love for you."

Jimin finally looked up, eyes meeting Jungkook's sincere gaze. He couldn't help but believe him, because no matter which colour they were - brown, red, or silver - his eyes still held the exact same loving gaze. Jungkook had changed, but the way he looked at Jimin remained unchanged.

"I love you too." Four simple words held so much weight as they dangled in the air, confirming knowledge of something so wonderful. A feeling that cocooned around them like a warm blanket, a feeling that simply couldn't be ripped away.

He leaned up and pressed his lips to Jungkook's, glad that his actions were shielded by Jungkook's wings. "My angel." He whispered against the younger's mouth, pressing against Jungkook with deep need and passion dripping off of his every gesture.

A large part of Jimin, was Jungkook. A significant part of his being, was his love for Jungkook; and so he kissed Jungkook in a way that hopefully allowed him to know how truly important he was.

Jungkook's lips tasted of strawberry and vanilla, every single part of him seemingly fine tuned to perfection.

And so there they stood in front of the devil. The former demon and the angel who had fallen.

The angel who had fallen in love.
