The constant hammering and chopping kept the men busy as they worked to repair the Jackdaw overnight. The hull was upgraded extensively, using combined wood and sheets of metal.
Specifically, they used oakwood with metal, the oak would be a thick layer of two feet, and on top of that a thin sheet of metal. Whether it was iron or steel, it was up to their supply, as there wasn't a god-like supply infinite resources.
This hull combo would make the hull incredibly hard to penetrate, let alone putting a dent wouldn't be a piece of cake for any adversary. This gave the Jackdaw some chance of standing against the more powerful, and more trained vessels of the Spanish and Royal Navy.
The figurehead of the Jackdaw was painted and repaired to it's original state, finally sporting a clean sturdy look. It was a bird, a symbol of the Jackdaw. Actually, literally the Jackdaw.
Also, the rudder was replaced, sporting a new one, and the Jackdaw could finally maneuver around once again, the previous temporary one was removed due to it being on it's last fiber. To Edward's liking, the wheel was replaced as well, now it wasn't some bland, plain wooden one.
It sported blue and red jewels around the wheel, making it stand out. It was also very easy to work around, unlike the previous wheel in which was problematic.
The old, original helm was always a victim of jamming, and constant repair. For a person like Edward, whom really loved and adored about steering his ship, made his left ear ache.
Especially when trying to change course, it would jam and it would knock them off course for miles at end, pissing Edward off to no good.
He even tried kicking the wheel in frustration, trying to break it, but the only thing that broke was his damn foot, or at least he thought he broke it, it still hurt from time to time.
They managed to pump out all of the water that was contained inside the Jackdaw's hold, fixing up the holes and patching them up below the waterline. Because of this, the Jackdaw wasn't listing anymore, making her look more sturdy and tall.
It's foremast and mainmast was repaired, replacing old splinters and bruises on the wooden surface of the tall logs of wood.
The white glittering sails were sown anew, making them look like well...sails, and not cheese.
"Move yer arse John!" James ordered the poor lad was tired to to end.
"Oi! I'm no Frenchie! King," John poked.
James threw his banana that he was eating and narrowed his sharp gaze closer to the seaman.
"What did you just bloody call me? King?" James Kidd says looking as scary as the devil in the sea.
"N-no sir! I was just walking to pick up these crates!" He scarily walks away.
"Ade, I need these patched up, here and here," Edward points at minor burns on the poop deck bridge.
"Aye Captain," Ade responds.
By sunrise, the Jackdaw was finally prepared to flap and glide it's seawings. They were finally ready to weigh anchor, and cast off to the great city of Kingston.
Edward and James were about ready to weigh anchor.
"Ready?" James said, smiling.
"Ready," Edward replied looking back at him, nodding.
Kenway, Kidd, along with several other men twirled the capstan around to retrieve the underwater anchor. They would then push, or heave as the men would say, and rotate or spin the capstan around until the anchor was retrieved.
