After all of the stabbing and slicing of people and men alike, Mary decided to take her mind off of it, and relax on a quiet rooftop overlooking the bay of Kingston.
She plumped herself on the very ridge of a building, below it, was the local tavern. In which, the drunk and jolly danced and drinked until the end of their hours, hopelessly drowning themselves in rum and alcohol. The noises coming from there could be heard slightly, but the wooden material of the building bounced any sort of sound, making their laughs and yells sounding muffled and distorted.
As for the bay, from their view, it looked gorgeous. A fleet of seagulls flew across the stars, squawking and squealing like always. Ships from all trades and empires anchored and clung to the seabed below, bobbing and heaving around like toys. In the midst of it, the Jackdaw also stood docked, proud and vicious as always. Reflections of the starlight gleamed on top of the black, glassy water, making the moon and stars seem like they're in the thousands.
Also in the mix, a few lone gunboats of the Royal Navy stood docked near the white, sand shoreline. From the looks of it, the sailors were simply transporting materials.
Seeing Mary sit down, Edward slowly moves towards her as well, and plumps his bottoms right next to hers.
Now, both were sitting next to each other, side by side.
Edward stares gleaming at the bay, "It's real pretty, isn't it?"
Mary too looks onto the bay, "Aye, it really is," She turns to him, "You've got some blood on your cheek, mate."
On Edward's right cheek, a splotch of wet red could be seen, just above his blonde stubble.
Edward raises his brow toward her, facing her completely, "Wait, really?"
Mary gets out a wet cloth, "Aye, just... stand still, will you?"
Edward didn't appear to have the any sort of wound or bruise that would've opened the blood. So by assumption, it must've been one of the dead guards blood.
Mary's white, wet cloth gracefully moved over the blood, wiping it cleanly off.
Edward feels the clean spot on his cheek, slightly rubbing it in circles, "Why, thanks lass."
Mary shrugs, "No problem, Kenway."
The two proceed to just observe the gleaming stars and view, just admiring it's sight. Above them, the sky had a interesting blue aurora, making it seem more glossy than usual.
For Edward, his stomach churned an awkward feeling, as the revelation of James Kidd actually not being a man sort of surprised and caught him off his knickers. He had suspicion and eyes prior to it, seeing the small awkward hints of him not actually being his assumed gender. The voice was off, and that was probably the largest elephant of them all. At the time however, he couldn't just point fingers without a complete, correct verdict.
With his small assumption now being correct, he was more gender-confused and shocked than ever before.
Mary could see Edward's long stare, as she had now just turned around and noticed it. Kenway looked like he was lost in space.
In actuality, Edward was just completely lost in thought, with his consciousness just buried in a mud of thoughts and feelings.
Mary smiles at him, and moves her hand in front of his face, "Kenway? Are you there?"
