Mary scurried her way down those ladders like it was her life on the line.

Anne followed after her, and the creaks the ladder could be heard as they made their way.

Mary's heart pounded the farther she went down, she was worried sick about him.

Why didn't he come back up was the question, and she had to know.

It felt like forever until she finally reached down the ladder, afterwards she saw the black opening of the wooden door at the end of the hall, and on each side, plenty of cells for anyone.

Turns out Anne was the only prisoner the British kept at bay, all the rest were killed off to what she could see.

Anne finally made it down the ladder, and the two seeing the door open at the end, bolted to it, their boots footsteps echoing.

When they finally made it to the doorway, the place was dark and empty.

Anne picked up a lit torch from the hallway corridor to use as a light source, and the pair searched the empty room.

Edward nowhere to be seen... nowhere.

Not one trace of him at all.

The only thing there was cobwebs on the corners, some rust on the walls, and some dead rat that seemed to be killed recently, it's limp body laying on the floor.

Mary took that to mind, as she realized the rat had a stab wound on it's belly, telling her it was killed by someone, someone armed.

"Edward isn't here," Anne whispers, her voice tone in realization.

"You don't think he's dead do y-"

"No! He's not dead! That Welsh gob face isn't dead!" Mary shouts at Anne, cutting her off.

"We have to tell Thatch about this, come on Anne follow me!" Mary begs her.

"Wait....what's this?" Anne lays her eyes on a note on the floor.

She picks it up, and reads over it.

"Mary! You need to see this," Anne hands over the mysterious note to Mary who grabs it out of her hands like it was candy.

She mouthes the words to herself, her eyes locked on this piece of paper.

" - Commodore H. "

When she was done, she held it in her hands tightly, crumpling it up.

"Come on Anne, to Thatch!" She points to the end where the ladder is.

The women go up the ladder once more, and meet up with Thatch who at the time, was assisting in the movement of crates to the boats.

"Thatch!" Mary runs up to the blackbeard.

"Aye? Mary you look like a plummed duff," He responds, noticing her worried face.

"It's Edward...he's...he's gone," Mary tells him, his eyes widened as he heard the news.

"Gone?" He gulps, "You mean..he's dead?" Thatch responds, Mary's face stiffens to a NO look.

"What? No, he isn't dead! Tosh... It's just..he disappeared below, he just vanished," She grabs his arm, "Come on follow me, bring Ade as well!"

The group make their way to the hatch.

...

Back in the hidden tunnel, the kidnappers were carrying unconscious Edward away.

The empty room Anne and Mary were in had a secret passage that they didn't catch the first time, as if was hidden by a door disguised as a well.

The opening mechanism was clever.
