She adjusted her new uniform one last time before nodding to herself in the mirror and slinging her school bag over her shoulder. It was her second day attending her new school and she couldn't say she was overly thrilled about it. This was the fifth school she had attended in the past four years and honestly, to her all schools were the same. Same basic set up, same typical people and same routine just a different location.

She left the school bathroom and made her way to her locker. Locker 376. She stuffed some random books into her bag, not checking whether she actually needed them for her upcoming classes or not. She heard the usual whispers behind her from her curious classmates. This was something she had grown accustomed to. She expected students to gossip about her, after all she was the new student who joined in the middle of the semester.

She quickly closed locker 376, suddenly growing uncomfortable in the lime light. She kept her head down to ignore the smiles from her new classmates as she passed by to get to the class where attendance will be called. She always liked being first to her classes as she drew less attention to herself. She pushed open the door to classroom 43 only to see a boy sitting alone at the back of the class.

He glanced up at her since it was rare that a student other than him arrived before the bell for class had actually rung. His gaze returned to the wooden desk almost immediately. The last thing he wanted was her to get the wrong idea and think he was staring at her. She took a seat two tables in front of the blonde boy since she didn't want him to think she was making a move on him.

Within a few seconds of her sitting down the bell rang and students began filing in.

"Na Ri!" Bo Ra exclaimed, taking the empty chair beside her. Bo Ra was the class president and seemed to make it her mission in life to befriend Na Ri. "Hi." Na Ri greeted quietly, shooting Bo Ra a friendly smile. "How was your first day?" Bo Ra asked, sounding more nosy than anything else. "Uneventful." She replied as she replayed yesterday over in her head. Bo Ra frowned slightly but quickly regained her happy demeanor as the teacher walked in.

Once attendance was called the students went their separate ways to their classes. Na Ri's first class was English which she had never been to before. English was a subject she had always excelled at since her parents had sent her to a tutor when she was younger. She took a seat by the window and watched the birds flying outside as other students took their seats.

She noticed the same boy from the back of attendance was sitting down in the seat behind her, once again, alone. Na Ri wondered why he never seemed to sit beside anyone. Maybe he was shy? Perhaps he wasn't a nice person?

He noticed her watching him and immediately tensed up. He hated being watched. It never used to be that way though. There was a time when he loved everyone's eyes on him. He glanced up at her momentarily hoping that she'd sense his uneasiness and stop. She seemed to take the hint and turned back around to face the front of the class. He couldn't help but wonder what her problem is meanwhile she wondered what his story was.

The day passed by pretty fast for Na Ri but dragged on for him. He received the usual glares he normally got whereas she received warm smiles.

"You should try the pasta. It's really good." Bo Ra suggested as she pushed a plate of cold pasta in Na Ri's direction. Na Ri shook her head with a small smile and pointed towards the chicken sandwich her dad had made for her this morning. "So how come you moved here in the middle of the semester?" Shi Won asked. "Parent's divorced." She replied nonchalantly. The four girls around the table all exchanged frowns with eachother before offering words of comfort and encouragment. "Honestly, it doesn't bother me." Na Ri lied. It bothered her a lot. She hated how her small family is now broken. Her younger brother stayed to live with their mum but she chose to move with her dad. She hated the thought of him being alone.

The girls picked at their lunch, at a loss for words for the first time since Na Ri had met the chatty bunch. She glanced around the big cafeteria searching for that strange boy from earlier in the day. "Looking for something?" Bo Ra enquired, snapping Na Ri's attention. She felt a slight blush creep to her cheeks since she didn't want to admit she was searching for him.

"Well, it's just that uh-I just-" She began but Shi Won cut her off with a small chuckle. "It's a boy isn't it!" She exclaimed, clapping her hands in delight. Na Ri remained silent and all four girls gasped and leaned closer to Na Ri. "Who is it?" Seul Bi grinned. "I don't like him or anything but there's this blonde guy in the back of my English class. He seems really quiet. He just sits alo-" She explained but stopped as the four girls all exchanged concerned looks.

"What?" She asked, feeling very confused. "Bang Chan." Bo Ra answered in a hush tone, as if his name was some kind of bad word that was supposed to be left unsaid. "He's...strange. I wouldn't bother with him if I were you." Seul Bi advised. "Is he bad or something?" Na Ri couldn't help but feel really curious. If she wanted to know more about him this was her best chance. The four girls all stared at Na Ri as though she was some alien creature. Chan wasn't someone that people ever spoke about and when they did it was never positive.

"He's not bad, he's just not good. I heard he's in a gang." Shi Won shared with the group and was met with nods from each girl around the table. "I'd believe that." Jae Hwa added. "Really?" Na Ri couldn't believe what she was hearing. He just seemed like a shy boy to her. "He doesn't come to school that much either." Bo Ra commented. "Somebody told me he got his ex girlfriend pregnant." Seul Bi snorted in disgust. "They are just rumours though, right?" Na Ri interrupted the group's discussion. "Well yeah, but we know one thing for a fact." Shi Won began, peaking Na Ri's curiosity. Bo Ra, Seul Bi and Jae Hwa turned to face Shi Won as though begging her to keep her mouth shut. "We shouldn't talk about it though." Shi Won sighed.

"Oh c'mon, tell me! You can't start a story and not finish it." Na Ri urged the group who shared a look of uncertainty. Shi Won glanced around the cafeteria to ensure nobody was listening in on their discussion before leaning closer to Na Ri and cupping her hands around her mouth to whisper.

"He's a murderer."
