A lonely battle

"Do we really need him?" asked Forth

"There is always a chance" Pha sighed "I do not want to as much as you... but what other option do we have. Kit cannot withstand another surgery even is he is conscious"

They have been going about it for an hour now, I have never felt this useless in my entire life.

"So, we call him?" asked Beam

"If we know where to find him" said Yo

"Actually... we do" Beam looked uncomfortable

"What?", "How?" asked both Pha and Yo shocked, while I just observed their conversation in silence.

"Do you know?" Yo turned to me

"He actually works for me, and I do have a signed affidavit that he will not claim anything form Kit" replied Forth

"Since when" Pha was furious now

"It has been months" Forth replied

"Even if there is a signed affidavit, an baby is completely different scenario – he does have legal right you know" muttered Yo

"What do we do, if he tries to take her away?" he asked them "We can't ask him without telling him the truth

They kept bantering with each other, none of them sure what to do

Beam sat next to me defeated "I don't know"

"Can we take the chance – not call him" Yo asked in general

"No" I spoke for the first time

They all looked at me, "Let's talk to him"

"But..." yo said

"No But, it my daughter's life and I am not taking a chance..." Forth can you give me his number

"No, but let me call him" he said "But I still think it is better we meet him outside"

"Okay" I sighed "but I do not want to leave them for long, better if he comes to the hospital"

Forth nodded and made the call.

"He will be here in couple of hours, I have asked him to come to the near by park" he looked at me

"You don't have to come, you have enough on your plate" he sighed

"No, I have too" I got up

"I need to see her, let me know once he is here" and walked away leaving the three at the table.

Beam just watched him leave "I wish his life would be easy in the future at least" he sighed

"My heart breaks for him" said Yo wiping away his tears "He is strong, am not sure how much more he can take – Kit has to wake up soon"

"Yes" Pha agreed with him pulling Yo in closer to him

"Do we really need Prem?" asked Forth "I am really not okay bringing him in to this, from what I have seen – he has been craving for a family, a friend"

"Hmmm" sighed Beam "Do you think he will not let them have her?"

"Well, mother holds the legal right to the child unless she can be proved unfit" Yo said "I am sure Kit can beat him through if he takes the legal route"

"I do not want them to go through it" Beam sighed "What if he didn't take the legal route?"

"Guys, let's not make it worse – let's talk to him before calling Ming" said Pha putting an end to the conversation.

I had walked up to Kit's floor, the staff's there knew me and they just allowed me to go to him, I went up to him, pulled a chair and sat next to his bed

"Wake up, Kit" I said as I took his hands in mine, I looked at the IV line connected in his hands "Please"

"I need you" I told him, "Nothing makes sense to me if you are not here, I need you – we both need you"

I havn't shed a tear for a long time but it looked like I have no control over them now, I broke down as I cried in his arms

"Kitty... please come back to me" was all I could say to him.

I felt a hand on my back, I wiped my tears as I lifted my head up to see who it was. It was Kit's ma

"He will" she said as she hugged me "He loves you more than himself"

"I am just lost without him" I sobbed in her arms now, desperate for some support – I was tired of being strong.

"Sit with him" she said, "talk to him, I am sure he is hearing you" and she moved away

"Tell him about Achara" she said as she left us alone

I took a deep breath "She is so beautiful, I bet she misses her dad – I keep holding her hands, they are so tiny in mine" I felt myself choking on the words again

"She has to go in for a surgery – she is so tiny you know" I poured my heart out "They all say it will be okay – but she is not even a week old, and she has to go for surgery"

"There is nothing I can do" I choked up again, if there is any god in this world, please return my life to me.

"I need you here Kit, you are my strength" I sighed 

"You know we might also have to call Prem, as they were asking for a donor to be ready, and I can't help our daughter"

I took a deep breath "I am going to fight until the end for both of you, and you better.... better come back to me" i threatened him

I was not sure If he was listening but it felt good to talk to my Kit, I rested my head on his hands and closed my eyes

"I love you" I said wiping away my tears
