"I'm not lying." Chloe shrugged, focused on her computer in front of her.

She was avoiding eye contact with her cousin, who had a stupid grin on his face. "You mean to tell me that-"

"-I see my ancestor in the most inconvenient times?" she grumbled, typing her log on the computer. "Unfortunately, yes."

"What do you mean 'unfortunately'?" Alex said, practically bouncing up and down on his chair. "Dude! This is practically revolutionary!"

"Please tell me how getting distracted and pulled out of missions to go watch Jacob be an idiot is 'revolutionary'?" Chloe sighed, running her hands down her face. "If anything, it just makes me confused half the time."

A beat passed.

"Is that why you look like an idiot nowadays?"

"Alex!"

"What?"

at this rate, y'all will expect me to do this more often.

(pls don't. contrary to popular belief, I actually do have somewhat of a life.)
