Hey, I know you're asleep, so I wanted to tell you that you're my world. I want to be with you forever, Polly, and the thought of waking up and you not loving me is both terrifying and unrealistic-- purely because I know we'll both love each other forever. I want to learn every small thing about you from the other side of a pillow and feel your soft body against mine as you drift off to sleep every night with my arms around you. I can't wait to see how beautiful you look in your wedding dress, and how good of a mother you will be. I want to see how you decorate our apartment and what kind of dumb jokes and crazy facts you'll teach our kid, even though I'll never let you teach them how to cook. But most of all, I wanted to make your day with this small, tiny gift that could never, ever replace what you've given me: a best friend, and a reason to wake up every day with a smile on my face.
