Patient Or Patience?

"Hey!Why the stern looking face?I'm not gonna do anything to ya!Relax!"he laughed casually as he saw me tensing up.

Was it that too obvious?I sweatdrop and apologise to him for thinking bad things.

"Nothing to worry!I guess my behaviour sometimes scares people most of the time especially among ladies!Haha!"he laughed again and I couldn't help but to smile at him as I took a seat at the edge of the bed.

"I assume that this is your first time here right?"he suddenly spoke up and I glance to him who is gazing back at me with his calm smile.

"Yeah..It is my first time here and I'm really nervous.."I laughed nervously which soon another laugh joins me too.

"Hehe,I can see that you're gonna be a good one someday.May I ask you something (R/N)-san?"he smiled at me as his gaze holds softness and kindess despite the scar that runs across his eye which gives off the scary looks.

"What is it Mister Shanks?"I ask him.

"Oh!No need for formal!Just call me Shank.Back to my question,why do you want to be a doctor?"he looked at me and I couldn't help but to stare at him as I got lost in my thoughts.

Why do I want to be a doctor?I couldn't quite remember but for some reason,I felt like I've been avoiding that question for a long time now..

While I look down at my hands,without I realise,Shanks was staring at my form who seems to be in deep thoughts but he had no effort on disturb the moment at all but just watch.

As time pass by,he suddenly smile to himself and reach out his hands to ruffle my hair.

I was taken aback by his sudden action and I can tell that my face was red as a tomato right now but I guess he couldn't quite see it since it is almost sunset now and the colour of thr red-orange sky fills inside the room but how wrong I was,he saw it clearly and he didn't even take his hand off my head at all.

"M..Mis-I mean,Shank-san..?I..Is there something wrong..?"I ask him,trying to break the awkward silence between us till he smile at me.

"Hehe,you have a good heart (R/N)-san.Know this,that no matter what happend or how hard things get,don't let the bad things cloud your heart..Keep your head straight up and believe in your heart okay?"he grinned widely at me as his big hand rest assured on my head which for some reason,makes me feel quite comfortable.

I didn't know what to say but to just nod my head and smile warmly at him.

Maybe I'll try to think it back after this.I thought that Shank-san is a pervert and carefree guy but he is also a kind and caring person.I'm glad that I got to meet him.

"Oh yeah,(R/N)-san,are you single?"he suddenly ask the question to me with an innocent smile of his while I just deadpanned.

I think I said it to early.He is still a pervert guy.

I'm currently resting by the pantry side with a hot cup of chocolate drink in a plastic cup while leaning myself near the window.

I didn't realise time pass by quick and the next thing I knew,it was already night.

Let's see,other than meeting Shank-san,I met anothet pervert old guy,a kind old lady and a mean kid who throws things at me.Yep,thats about most of my patient today and I haven't see Mr.Trafalgar at all except when he's assigning me to a another patient.

Seriously,I don't know much about being a doctor and yet he just throws me with all of the patient without even guiding me.I pouted to myself and sigh as I finish drinking the hot beverage in my hand.
