ARIANNA'S POV

I tried crawling to the couch, but I didn't get very far before all the muscles in my body started burning. My entire body was changing, and I couldn't move, scream, or do anything.

I wasn't used to being afraid or scared. As a child I never had any ghosts in the closet, or monsters under the bed, so I never honestly registered the feeling of fear.

Right now though, not knowing what was happening to me..I was afraid. Maybe this is what happens when you die, if that's so, I wouldn't wish death upon anyone.I sat there in agonizing pain for what felt like hours wondering whether I was going to live or die, and I hadn't even notice that it had stopped.

The pain, the fear, it all stopped.Looking around my dark living room, I saw things usually hidden by shadows and darkness. I also heard my mom all the way on the back porch, talking on the phone with Lynn, her friend from work. I guess that's why she didn't come in here for the last hour or so, I realized while glancing at the clock, but I was wrong. I hadn't been held captive by the agonizing pain for hours like I'd thought but minutes, the clock said 11:30 P.M. It had  been only five minutes.

"Hey m-" I started, but there was a sharp pain on my bottom lip.

With slow realization came the speeding up of my heart beat. I carefully brought my finger up to my mouth to feel my K-9's, and what was there frightened me even more so then the terrifying change that had just happened to me a moment ago.

I opened my mouth to scream but before I could let anything out, the doorbell rang.
