Chapter 8: Regaining something special

One day in English Nate turned to me and said, "Are you still mad at James?"

"Yea why?"

He groaned "Ugh I can't take this anymore."

"What?"

"James keeps complaining about how you refuse to talk to me."

"He's a coward."

"But he defended you !"

"What?!"

"He texted Lara privately."

"This idiot!"

I texted James and told him to meet me at the benches outside at lunch.

Sarah and I waited at the benches. The moment I saw him I said, "You liar!"

"What?"

"You idiot! You did defend me!"

"Who told you?"

"you texted Lara privately."

"Yeah I did."

"You let me be mad at you for no reason."

"You were mad. How was I supposed to talk to you?"

I groaned and turned away. James stood in front of me and said, "Look, Lara isn't even talking to me now."

"What? Why?"

"I'm honestly not sure."

"Damnnn"

"Yea."

"So we good?"

I shrugged and looked at my watch. "Gotta go, I have to practice for my music quiz."

"Ok bye." 

I said bye to Sarah and headed off. I couldn't stop smiling. I got James back! It felt like the world was right again.

That night James texted me
