Chapter 13: Flirting is life

The next few days were normal. I was on good terms with most people. And what always seemed to annoy me is that whenever things got interesting it was in global.

One day I sat in global and Jacob said, "yo Meera."

I turned to him and he gestured between me and James who was sitting next to him. I rolled my eyes and smirked. "James broke my heart long time ago. I don't want him anymore."

"You rejected her?" Jacob said to James.

James said, "No. I said I wasn't sure."

Suddenly it was a conversation just between me and James.

I said to him, "You rejected me and broke my heart." I sniffled playfully

He looked at me with those chocolate eyes of his and said, "I said 80% yes"

"There is no amount. You either do or don't"

Suddenly Jacob said, "Wait Meera you're vegetarian right?"

"Yea, Hindu remember ? why?"

"So how do you eat the meat?"

I was confused for a minute before I realized what he meant. Only guys. would have such dirty thoughts. 

I said, "It doesn't count."

"Oh so you and green?"

I laughed because Jacob still didn't know who green was. I shrugged. "I'm reserved for only one person."

James stretched his arms in a way that made me think dangerous things, and he slapped his chest trying to be manly. I laughed pretending he didn't affect me. "Oh please James. I don't want you."

"Mhmmm sure."

"If green asked me..."

"Would you say yes?"

"What?"

His question had caught me completely off guard because he really meant it.

"I'd wait until you leave."

"Why?"

I was saved by the bell. I ran out of class. Spring break! Why did everything interesting happen the day of a vacation?! 

James texted me that night

J- would u accept green

M- maybe. after u leave

J- y

M- y do u care

James didn't respond for hours. 

J- sorry in class :(

M- dance?

J- got a show next week is gotta work on my throws

M- ????

A few hours later (SpongeBob style)

J- I basically spin girls n stuff

M- hot girls?!

J- latina so yea

M- oh more competition

J- nah ur g

M- really?

J- yea

M- awwwww <3333

J- lmfao u never answered my question

M- ur s oblivious

J- would u?

M- idk

J- would u?

M- NO BC I LIKE U MORE

J- lmfao ik

M- asshole so mean. but u can't ignore the fact that u like me too

J- yeah

M- parents home bye

As soon as things get interesting my parents always came home. I really hated life. James and me.....a dream. I lose him in three months. Each day that passes is one less with him. I'm trying not to admit it, or else I might actually break down.
