Our main protagonist will have witnessed the Calamity first hand, and takes part in helping rebuild society. However through classified plot details, he will set out on a journey to search for the reason behind this sudden attack, and explore the land and lore of Hyrule only hinted at in Breath of the Wild.
The main antagonist will be a group of members from each race who wish to find Links body and destroy him. As they blame him for the Calamity and his failure to stop it. However they will be secondary villains, and the plot will mostly focus on lore and exploration.

Xavier, was just a lad when Calamity Ganon struck. He was present during the battle of Fort Hateno and witnessed the supposed death of Link, and witness the princess flee. Growing up, he blames her and the Royal Family for the disaster.
Xavier took part in the Hyrule Restoration Movement and helped rebuild some areas in the Necluda region, including doing his best to repair Fort Hateno and Hateno Village, as well as set up the regions Stable.
Ever since he climbed Twin Peaks against his mother's wishes, he yearned for adventure and discovery. He felt there was more he could do to help the land rebuild and eventually sets out to find out the source of the Calamity to prevent it from happening again.

The villains will be secondary, but still a threat. A group of members from each race, banning together under the Yiga banner to find and destroy Link, as they believe it was due to his failure that the Calamity destroyed Hyrule and killed their beloved Champions. They currently search for the Resurrection Chamber in which Link sleeps.
