haerin's pov

i wish people would stop asking me that three word question. will asking me are you okay? do anything? it really doesn't.

i've been spacing out ever since the day hyunjin told me his backstories. with all the stuff he said about him being childhood friends with hyeri also known as myself, his parents and his nickname, just hits me.

it hits me hard.

after not seeing hyun or should i say, "hyunjin", for about 3 years, it turns out he was always here. the boy i spent most of my childhood with was just here. he turned out to be living in room 4419 for this past year and a half. the room across my room.

but something i don't get is.. how is hwang hyunjin and park hyun one person? where did the park come from?

"haerin, are you okay?" felix asked me in english. him and i were hanging out like usual at the convenience store right beside our building.

usually him and i have our conversations in english because we're both really good at it and it helps him out because he's still trying to learn some korean words.

before i met hyunjin and before my mom married jeongin's dad, i actually lived in england at a young age, for about 5 years, but when my mom met jeongin's dad, we moved back to korea.

so while talking to me in english, you could kind of hear my british accent. not as deep as felix's aussie accent.

"yeah.. i'm fine." i lied. seriously though, i'm not really fine. i've been doing so much thinking lately, that i barely act like myself around everyone. even saera noticed that.

"something has been bothering you lately, i can tell. what's up?" he asked me, calmly. i sighed. i know he'll find out what's wrong somehow so i guess it's better to tell him now.

"i've just been thinking about a lot of things lately.."

"what kind of things?" he questioned.

"you have a cousin named jaechan right?" i asked him and he strangely nodded. "yeah.. but how do you know him?"

"and he's a murderer right..?" she asked another question.

"yeah... he killed jeongin's sister and hyunjin's whole family.." felix explained sadly. "apparently he killed jeongin and hyeri's parents too?? but that wasn't confirmed because he never mentioned it before, when he would usually end up mentioning to us if he kills someone."

i let out a heavy sigh. it's true though. we all just assumed that jaechan killed my mom and jeongin's dad because he's a killer but could it really be him? who knows if it's someone else.
