Upside Down

Chase

Chasing something
That I crave so badly
It feels like
I'm chasing light

Desperately wanting it
I run so fast
That my lungs can't hold
Will I ever reach it?

Writing my story
As I go
Even when the fatigue takes over
I keep chasing it

Have been
Chasing it
For so long
That I forgot what it was

I scream
Wanting to remember
I cry
Wanting someone to remind me

I'm in too deep now
Diving into the ocean
I continue chasing it
But I seem to be drowning

Lying on the ocean floor
I finally remember
Chasing dreams
That seem to be fading away

Surrounded by darkness
I blindly grope
Wanting to find it
But i only keep hurting myself

I call out for help
But no one's around
Screaming
Knowing that it's too late

I still continue to chase it
Blindly
'Cause I know
It's the only thing that's keeping me alive

Only thing that keeps me going
So I continue
Chasing it
Writing stories as I go....
