"They're still out there. What do we do now?" Rory asks as the Doctor, Rory, Ryan and myself stand in a circle beside the Pandorica.

"If we can stop whatever's in this box getting out, then they'll go home." I tell him.
"Right." Rory replies.
"Rory, I'm sorry. You're going to have to be very brave now." The Doctor says as I see Amy approaching from behind Rory. She trudges right past Rory and Ryan over to the Doctor and I.
"Oh, my head." Amy complains as she hugs me lazily before facing the Doctor.
"It's not that bad." I tease turning to Rory and smiling sympathetically.
"Ah." The Doctor demonstrates for Amy as she copies.
"Just your basic knock-out drops, same as Mackenzie. Get some fresh air, you'll be fine." The Doctor says.
"Is it safe up there?" Amy asks.
"Not remotely, but it's fresh, so that's something." I laugh to her and she smiles in return as the Doctor, Ryan and I walk back over to the Pandorica, leaving Amy and Rory to talk. "So are you like River, do you know everything about us, but we know nothing about you?" I ask the man as I lean against the box watching the Doctor work.
"Yep, pretty much." Ryan replies.
"Weird." I say. "So two are close?"
"Pretty close, yeah, we've known each other for a long time."
"So who is she?" The Doctor asks turning to face him, never having spoken to him before as he narrows his eyes at Ryan, not sure if he can trust him. "And who are you, to us?"
"You know what River would say to that." Ryan smiles at the Doctor and I and I return, knowing that I'm going to like this guy as much as I like River. I listen in on Rory and Amy's conversation as Amy leaves and Rory turns to us, looking distraught.
"She doesn't remember me. How can she not remember me?" Rory asks us as the Doctor stops what he's doing to face Rory like Ryan and I are.
"Because you never existed." The Doctor replies.
"There are cracks. Cracks in time. There's going to be a huge explosion in the future, on one particular day. And every other moment in history is cracking around it." I explain to Rory as the Doctor continues what he's doing.
"So how does that work? What kind of explosion? What exploded? Kenzie remembers me!" Rory argues.
"Rory, I'm different I'm not human anymore, I'm a Time Lord." I tell him softly not wanting to upset him any further.
"And it doesn't matter. The cracks are everywhere now. Get too close to them and you can fall right out of the universe." The Doctor says.
"So I fell through a crack and now I was never born?" Rory asks in disbelief.
"Basically." The Doctor answers simply.
"Well, how did I end up here?"
"I don't know, you shouldn't have. What happened? From your point of view, what physically happened?" The Doctor stops doing whatever he's doing and approaches Rory.
"I was in the cave, with you and Amy. I was dying, and then I was just here, a Roman soldier. A proper Roman. Head full of Roman stuff. A whole other life, just here like I'd woken up from a dream. I started to think it was a dream, you, Kenzie and Amy and Leadworth. And then today, in the camp, the men were talking about the visitors. The girls with the red hair. I thought you'd come back for me. But Amy can't even remember me." Rory says sadly and I reach into the Doctor's pocket taking out the ring box and I walk over to Rory squeezing his hand.
"Oh, shut up will you?" I say.
"What?" He asks looking to me and I pass him the box.
"Go get her." I tell him smiling widely to him.
"But I don't understand. Why am I here?" Rory asks the Doctor.
"Because you are. The universe is big. It's vast and complicated and ridiculous, and sometimes, very rarely, impossible things just happen and we call them miracles, and that's the theory. Nine hundred years, never seen one yet, but this would do me. Now get upstairs. She's Amy and she's surrounded by Romans. I'm not sure history can take it." The Doctor replies and Rory smiles leaving the chamber and chasing after Amy.

"Can you pass me the radio?" The Doctor asks me and I chuck it to him as I resume sitting in my earlier spot against the pillar, this time Ryan sitting a few steps away from me as we don't know what to do with ourselves. "The Tardis, where is it? Hurry up." The Doctor says.
"Don't raise your voice, don't look alarmed, just listen." River's voice calls through the radio, perking my interest at the forced calmness of her voice. "They're not real. They can't be. They're all right here in the story book. Those actual Romans. The ones I sent you, the ones you're with right now. They're all in a book in Amyand Kenzie's house. A children's picture book." River tells us and my eyes widen as the Doctor stops moving.
"What are you even doing there?" The Doctor asks as he switches the radio off of speaker and I dart up off of my feet and over to his side to listen.
"It doesn't matter. The Tardis went wrong." River replies.
"What's wrong with the Tardis?" I ask.
"I don't know, but Doctor, how is this even possible?"
"Something's using her memories, Amy's memories." The Doctor replies.
"That's why Rory's here." I murmur and he nods, understanding.
"But how?" River asks.
"River, you said something had been there." I say to her.
"Yes. There's burn marks on the grass outside. Landing patterns." She says.
"If they've been to our house, they could have used her psychic residue. Structures can hold memories, that's why houses have ghosts. They could've taken a snapshot of Amy's memories. But why?" I say to the two of them.
"Who are those Romans?" River asks and I look around not feeling comfortable.
"Projections, or duplicates." The Doctor suggests.
"But they were helping us. My lipstick even worked." River reasons and I look to see Ryan approaching.
"River, is Ryan one of those Romans?" I ask.
"No, he came with me, he stole the painting with me." She tells us and I nod as Ryan walks up to us.
"What's going on?" He asks but the Doctor holds up a finger, a gesture to stop him from talking.
"They might think they're real. The perfect disguise. They actually believe their own cover story, right until they're activated." The Doctor says.
"Doctor, that Centurion." River says after a moment.
"Oh my God!" I announce a little too loudly, gathering a little attention but I lower my voice quickly. "Rory dressed up as a Roman once when Amy was doing her kissogram job, they took a picture, she keeps it in the book about the Romans." I remember.
"Yeah, I'm looking at that photo." River says. "It's a trap. It has to be. They used Amy to construct a scenario you'd believe, to get close to you."
"Why? Who'd do that? What for? It doesn't make sense." The Doctor questions endlessly but before we can get a reply there's a huge bang from River's side.
"River? River?" I ask worriedly.
"River, what's happening?" Ryan speaks up.
"I don't know. It's the engines. Doctor, there's something wrong with the Tardis, like something else is controlling it." River informs us.
"Let me hear." I say taking the radio off of the Doctor and I listen to the bangs and groans coming from the Tardis as she's able to get a few words out to me.
"You're flying her wrong." The Doctor tells River.
"No, no she's not, she's flying her perfectly fine, something's controlling her dragging her to a specific date and time." I tell the Doctor what the Tardis told me.
"Where are you? What's the date reading?" The Doctor asks starting to sound panicked, River and I speak at the exact same time.
"It's the 26th of June, 2010."
"You need to get out of there now. Any other time zone." The Doctor says as he takes back the radio, pacing. "Just go."
"I can't break free." River says.
"Well, then shut down the Tardis. Shut down everything!" The Doctor shouts.
"I can't!" There's a period of quiet as a voice speaks in the background repeating 'Silence will fall' over and over. "Someone else is flying it. An external force. I've lost control."
"But how? Why?" The Doctor asks and suddenly a high pitched noise fills the chamber and I flinch at the pitch of the noise.
"River, listen to me, just land her anywhere. Emergency landing, now." Ryan says.
"There are cracks in time. I've seen them everywhere, and they're getting wider. The Tardis exploding is what causes them, but we can stop the cracks ever happening if you just land her." The Doctor explains to River.
"It's not safe." River replies. Suddenly a white light floods out of the Tardis as the Pandorica opens.
"Well, now. Ready to come out, are we?" The Doctor asks turning to the Pandorica I glance nervously to Ryan as I go and stand by the Doctor.
"Doctor? I'm down." River says and the words leave relief rushing through me, knowing both River and the Tardis are safe.
"Okay, just walk out of the doors. If there's no one inside, the Tardis engines shut down automatically." The Doctor replies not taking his eye off of the Pandorica. "Just get out of there."
"I'm going." River replies.
"Run!" He yells.
"Doctor! Doctor, I can't open the doors!" River shouts. I start to hear something behind us and both Ryan and I turn to face a huge group of oncoming centurions.
"Doctor." I whisper, frozen in place. "Amy!" I yell out to try and make sure he's alright. The Doctor and I get pulled away by the Centurions and yanked as Ryan is left alone.
"Mackenzie, Doctor." He's says, not sure of what he should do.
"Just pretend to be like them." I tell him and he nods as they take us over to the Pandorica.
"Plastic Romans. Duplicates, driven by the Nestene Consciousness, eh? Deep cover, but what for? What are you doing? What's in there, eh? What's coming out?" The Doctor asks as we come to a hault.
"The Pandorica is ready." One of the centurions holding me says.
"What, so you mean it's open?" The Doctor asks, trying to turn around to look.
"You have been scanned, assessed, understood, Doctor and Guardian." The voice of a Dalek says. I look to the Doctor smiling a little despite the situation.
"Guardian." I whisper to myself.
"Scanned? Scanned by what, a box?" The Doctor asks, worried turning to glimpse at the three Daleks behind us as the Centurions turn us around.
"Your limits and capacities have been extrapolated." The Dalek says.
"The Pandorica is ready." A Sontaran says.
"Ready for what?" I ask.
"Ready for you." The Dalek says. They start to drag us towards the Pandorica.
"No! No! Mackenzie, hasn't done anything, leave her out of this!"
"The Guardian is your equal, the Pandorica is ready for you." The Dalek repeats.
"It's ok." I whisper to him as he looks to me and I smile fully aware that the terror is plain on my face.
"You lot, working together. An alliance. How is that possible?" The Doctor asks as the huge crowd of aliens group around the Pandorica, the both of us, locked in place in the Pandorica.
"The cracks in the skin of the universe." The white Dalek states.
"All reality is threatened." The Sontaran continues.
"All universes will be deleted." The Cyberman finishes.
"What? And you've come to us for help?" The Doctor asks.
"No. We will save the universe from you!" The Sontaran shouts.
"From us?" I ask glancing to the Doctor, knowing this isn't our doing.
"All projections correlate. All evidence concurs. The Doctor and the Guardian will destroy the universe." The Cyberman informs us.
"No, no, no. You've got it wrong." The Doctor says shaking his head.
"The Pandorica was constructed to ensure the safety of the Alliance." The Cyberman ignores him.
"A scenario was devised from the memories of your companion." The Dalek says.
"A trap the Doctor and Guardian could not resist." The Sontaran informs.
"The cracks in time are the work of the Doctor. It is confirmed." The Dalek tells us.
"No. no, no, not us it's the Tardis. And we're not in the Tardis, are we?" I say.
"Only the Doctor and Guardian can pilot the Tardis." The Dalek says.
"Please, listen to me!" The Doctor yells, as he realises this could be the end.
"There are others! There are others who can pilot the Tardis!" I yell tears brimming, but they ignore us.
"You will be prevented." The Dalek ignores.
"Total event collapse! Every sun will supernova at every moment in history. The whole universe will never have existed. Please, listen to us!" The Doctor yells starting to fight the restraints.
"You're not listening!" I yell. "Every planet in the solar system will be destroyed, you'll all die. So many innocent lives will be lost!" I shout, as my voice cracks, the emotion overwhelming, I look to the left to see Ryan starting to try and fight the Centurions off, to try and help the Doctor and I, but it's no use.
"Seal the Pandorica."
"No! Please, listen to me! The Tardis is exploding right now and I'm the only one who can stop it! Listen to me!" He yells as the doors close.
"Doctor, I'm scared." I whisper before a burning explodes inside me. The pain was unbearable as if my insides were being pulled out. I could hear the Doctor shouting at me, trying to reach me from the other side of the cramped space but only being able to take my hand. I knew what it meant, the Tardis had exploded and the Doctor and I had failed, and through all the events of today, the both of us had forgotten the link I shared with the Tardis. I guess we both now knew the link that the Tardis and I shared was to a point where if something happens to the Tardis something happens to me, we figured it out, we figured it out together, like I'd promised, but we'd figured it out too late. The pain left me feeling empty and lifeless as I was surrounded by white noise, the Doctor's voice fading out and disappearing. I felt my eyes squeeze shut and all went quiet as everything disappeared.

Doctor's POV

Watching Mackenzie cry out for that split second I knew I had failed, I knew the Tardis had exploded and I knew that we had lost. I watched her scream helplessly as I saw the pain in her eyes and as I tried to reach her, I'd managed to grab her hand, but I doubted that she could feel it through the pain. After only a few seconds of screaming she suddenly just collapsed in on herself, her head dropping to her chest, completely unconscious, I wasn't sure if she was dead or just knocked out, but my mind instantly assumed she was dead as theories were being created in my head. The idea that the Tardis was what was keeping her alive being the main contender. Mackenzie was reborn as a Time Lord on the Tardis but she had no life source, to keep her alive some of the Tardis' energy must have been passed through into Mackenzie, making the Tardis her life force, explaining how Mackenzie survived and why she felt so much pain when the Tardis exploded.

Ihadn't realised the tears on my face until Mackenzie's hand dropped out ofmine, a dead weight. I hadn't felt such an over whelming sadness in a longtime, but feeling Mackenzie's hand let go of mine seemed to break me as Istared at her lifeless, pale body, not sure of what to do. I broke down staringat the girl that I'd grown to love, I'd told myself not to get involved, thatit would only lead to her getting hurt, but then I couldn't help it.Originally, I had thought maybe she would just regenerate, but without a life source keeping her body going, there was no hope. I can't remember the last time I'd cried this much, in fact I don't think I've ever cried this much, and now here I was, crying for a girl who was everything to me, who broke me down into tears in a matter of two minutes. She was supposed to be my equal, that's what the Dalek had said, but with this mistake they stopped that possibility, they stopped her from being able to live that life, the life of the Guardian. It was supposed to be the Doctor and the Guardian forever, but once again, it was just the Doctor.
