WORDS OF THE LIVING

(BEACH)

Water shimmers in a rock pool
Crabs and seagulls controlling the land
Our toes hug the soft, smooth sand
As we approach the beach
I reach
For my surfboard
Surfed. Bored.
Read my book.
Write my book.
As our toes hug the sand

I stand up again
My feet rush to the water
I see a woman with a child perhaps her daughter
Splashing the white water
dissipates
On the straight and narrow
Listen to the song of the pelicans
Please can
I let my toes hug the sand

So I ran
As fast as I could go
Towards the waters edge
My feet hits to water
I throw myself under
And I realise

The beauty in the world
Blue skies
Mountains rise
From the ground
Sandy deserts
Bliss on the outskirts
Of cities

Trees, mountains, seas
Spring, summer, silence
Clouds, cactus, California
I wanna
See it all
Every inch, every mile
Every place, every town
I wanna go now
So I get out
And my toes hug the sand

Trees, mountains, seasSpring, summer, silence Clouds, cactus, California I wanna See it allEvery inch, every mileEvery place, every town I wanna go nowSo I get out And my toes hug the sand
