Books gave us power
Ink, the blackened night
To see and all the stars
Or what's left of them
And I said
Lend me a light for a little while
To walk the line and fix it
Record the street and mix it
I'll return the favour
When I see you
In the classroom beneath the earth
Everyday is a school day
You ain't a predator then you're confined to prey
Down on your knees, talk to the soul of the living God
Fight the scramble, tooth and claw
Scraping fingers on a blackboard
Punch the clock on the 11th hour
I'll see you in the last remaining stars

So get busy crying honey
The forecast says rain today
Flood the streets and fill your brain
With the sounds of your doorstep
Bring your umbrella
Oh darling stella
It's gonna be a stellar day
Release your woes away
At least when it's raining
No one sees you crying

Pangea over and out
I'm splitting into pieces
But I'll figure it out
Continents of problems
And islands of dismay
And my legs begin to sway
But alas the day is done
Get busy crying hun

Make an ocean from your tears and bathe at dawn
Particles of salty water, reverberate in song
So please, come and sing along
To the beat of a dying breed
And all the teens like to bleed.
Of their own accord
Cause they're simply bored
of tying guitar strings to their heart
To try and play a different chord
Where meat is murder
And we are the villain
Of crowd pleasing methods, high on penicillin
where music meant anything at all
This ain't a lucky eight ball
