WORDS OF THE LIVING

(LIFE CHANGES)

Moon and sun
Brothers undone
Separated at birth
Watching over the earth
Out of time
Subject of many, a rhyme
For each day and night
They are but a sign
To those that write

During light,
natures beauty is hidden
Behind pet dogs barking
Horses ridden
Leaving you rapt, yet bitten
When dusk delivered
Does arrive
The earth truly begins its strides

The blues burned to an orange-red
The transformation must be led
By a lake, an otter does shiver
On our lips, the words do quiver
At things that cannot be said

The sun retreats
Giving way to the moon
Lamps light the streets
No dark fills the room
But earth's companion
Is gone so soon
As the sun and the moon
Can never meet
Their light never shining on the same English street

In darkness
Beauty exposed
The world starkness
Ruined by those with eyes closed
Not truly seen, heard or sought
Only witnessed, deep in thought

Because beauty hides in the darkness
In the words on paper and parchment
Not from the rooms of homes, apartments
Only the landscape
Can offer beautiful bombardments
Leaving you gasping at every shape

So while The sun and moon can never meet
They are still there for you, to greet
