"I FOUND SOMETHING." Sam tells me as he skims over an article on his laptop. I prop my head up, patiently waiting for him to elaborate.

"Cool, what is it?" I ask. I watch as Sam's face scrunches up. "What?" I ask.

"A body was found completely drained of blood outside of a dive bar in San Francisco." He tells me. There's a small pause after his words.

"Does that mean..." I trail off. I see Sam nod his head. I pause, taking a moment to think. "Listen, I know I said I'd be ready for the next case but...my mom..." I clear my throat. "I can't. I'm sorry, I know that-" I say, but Sam cuts me off.

"No, no, no. It's fine, I totally understand. Dean will too. We know what it's like to lose a parent to the supernatural." Sam tells me. I meet his eyes.

"I'm sorry." I tell Sam. He smiles.

"It's okay, I don't remember her, I was only a baby." He says.

"How did, uh... How did it happen?" I ask.

"A demon, he killed her." Sam says. I nod my head, knowing he probably didn't want to elaborate.

"Okay kids, I got a salad for Sam, some fries for Rowan, and some apple pie for Dean the Machine." Dean says enthusiastically as he gets in the Impala.

"It took you like twenty minutes in the restaurant, what were you doing?" Sam asks.

"Uh, I...Couldn't decide between the apple pie and the blueberry pie." Dean confesses. I laugh.

"Strawberry and rhubarb all the way, friend." I says as Dean passes us our food.

"I found us a case, but, uh, Rowan's not coming." Sam says to Dean.

"Why not?" He asks, looking at me through the mirror.

"It's probably vamps down in San Francisco." Sam says.

"Okay, and... oh. Sorry." Dean says. I stare at my almost too salty fries.

"It's okay." I say.

"I was thinking, maybe she could stay with Bobby while we handle it." Sam says. I look up from my fries.

"Who's Bobby?" I ask them.

"He was a friend of our dad's." Dean says. "He's like a second father to us. I'm sure you'll warm up to each other once you get past his sarcastic bitterness."

I laugh in response. "Okay, got it." I say.

Dean starts the car and drives into the direction of what I assume to be Bobby's house. "Dean the Machine?" I ask finally, earning a laugh from both my brothers.

After about an hour's drive, we pull in to an old car junk yard. "This is Bobby's house?" I ask. Sam nods. "It's got a certain charm, I must say." I tell them jokingly. "Does he know I'm here, or even exist for that matter?" I ask them.
