CASTIEL TAKES MY HAND and we angel-port to the motel where Dean is staying. Upon getting there, I let go of Cas’ hand and take a step back, noticing how uncomfortably close to Dean we are.
I watch Dean jump when he finally notices us. I give him a slight smile and wave my hand at him. “Don’t do that.” He says to us, looking at us through the mirror.
“Hello, Dean.” Cas says to him.
“Hi.” I say to Dean.
Dean stands up straight and turns around. I raise an eyebrow at the small space between Cas and Dean. “Cas..” Dean says. “We’ve talked about this, personal space.”
Cas nods before taking a step back, ending up beside me. “My apologies.” He says.
Dean nods and takes his coat off of the counter. “How did you find me?” Dean asks. “I thought I was flying below the angel radar.”
“You are.” Cas replies.
“We called Bobby.” I tell Dean. “Still very grouchy and unpleasant.”
Cas looks around the room. “Where’s Sam?” Cas asks.
“Me and Sam are taking separate vacations for a while.” Dean answers.
“Really?” I ask Dean rhetorically. “I’m gone for what? Like five minutes? Everything goes to shit.”
“So,” Dean says, changing the subject. “Did you find God yet?” He asks. “More importantly can I have my damn necklace back, please?”
“No, we haven’t found him.” Cas says. “That’s why we’re here. We need your help.”
“With what?” Dean asks. “God hunt? Not interested.”
“It’s not God. It’s someone else.” Cas says.
“Who?” Dean asks, fixing his jacket sleeves.
“An archangel. The one who killed me.” Cas says, walking closer to Dean.
“Excuse me?” Dean asks.
“His name is Raphael.”
“You were wasted by a teenage mutant ninja angel?” Dean asks jokingly.
I laugh. “That’s golden.” I say.
“I heard whispers that he’s walking the Earth.” Cas says. “This is a rare opportunity.”
“For what?” Dean asks. “Revenge?”
“Information.” Castiel answers.
Dean scoffs. “So what? You think if you find this dude he’s just gonna spill God’s home address?” He asks.
