Chapter Twenty-Two: DEADLY ASSOCIATION

  In the realm of light...

Sub realm of Knowledge, known as Infinite Library...

When they appeared, the first thing Alibel did, was to look around her. It became a reflex for her to look at her surroundings whenever Death used his powers. And this time, for the first time, the view was magnificent to her. They appeared in what looked like an endless library, beaming in golden light. There were so many rows of shelves with so many books and parchment rolls as she looked around, her eyes filled with amazement. She felt that she could spend an eternity here and would never get bored.

"Do you like the view?"

Alibel heard a very feminine and soft voice who asked the question as it echoed inside the library. 

"Yes", she simply replied, looking around trying to see who was speaking to her.

"Then we are two. If you want to see me, I'm up there. Second shelf from your left on top of the stairs", the feminine voice replied.

Alibel directed her eyes to where Death had been looking since they came here. She saw a little girl. Well, she looked little from where Alibel was seeing her. It seemed that she was putting away some books on the shelves.

"Where....where are we?", asked Alibel, curious.

The little girl, coming down the stairs, never looking at them, answered: " You..are..in my realm...The Infinite Library. The absolute storage of every knowing is here. I am Knowledge by the way. Well, my name is Knowledge, to prevent any confusion. I know it's hard for you, a simple mortal to know that we, well, beings like Death and I are named based on specific characteristic."

"Not, really", replied Alibel. "I'm getting used to it. I have already met Fate and well, Arrogant."

Death growled upon hearing his name.

Knowledge, who was finally down the stairs, laughed. It was a pure, genuine laugh. Alibel instantly warmed up to her. She felt she could trust this girl. She looked very young, with her short sandy colored bob cut hair and with her round face, nose and rosy cheeks. Her lips were pulpy and her skin color was creamy. Her deep blue electric eyes, the same colored as Death's one eye, reflected deep knowledge. Well, she wasn't named Knowledge for nothing, Alibel guessed. Plus she sounded very mature and looked very mature too in her classic white shirt and black trouser suit.

"So you took her to meet Fate and Arrogant!", said Knowledge still laughing. "I pity you Alibel. You met the worst ones among us from the beginning. First Death, then those two!" Knowledge laughed, tears streaming down at the corner of her eyes.

So, Knowledge knew her name.

"You know my name?", Alibel echoed her thought.

"Indeed, I know everything that there is to know up until now. Well, aside from your personal thoughts. I really admire your courage and tenacity. Not many humans achieve that much in circumstances like yours", replied Knowledge, admiration in her tone.

"well..tha-....thank you", Alibel said blushing.

"And you are so humble. Well, Death, dear friend, this one is truly a pure soul. One that still looks for the best in even the worst of the worst", said Knowledge.

"I already know it", said Death.

"Well, so I guess the reason you are here today is....because of her", Knowledge walked to a table covered up under a pill of books. Death followed with Alibel behind him.

"Yes", Death replied. " I don't know if the news came to you but-"

"Fate gave Hate the Book of Fate of Miss Alibel here present", Knowledge, rumbling among the pill of books, cut Death off. Alibel was absolutely shocked. How  did Knowledge know it when this secret was spilled only yesterday?
