blue eyes and sea foam are strangers to me.
yet with time, perhaps i shall call them friends.
bejewelled with guilt, i don this necklace.
in hopes of a renewed heartbeat,
these lungs fill with water and my chest is heavy,
eyes hooded with rocks.
i am underwater.
voices echo and throats clog up with dead dreams.
i am buried alive.
silenced screams and eyes blurring with hot tears.
i am stoned.
injuries sting, yet fresh wounds seem to be constant reminder.
i am asleep.
nightmares come alive, haunting my every step.
- a renewed heartbeat
