Diego & Dora boomed through the house. The little boy from two nights ago, Rico, had come to my house just as I advised him to if his abuelito would kick him out again. "Are you hungry, Rico?" I asked. He shook his head. A few knocks were heard at the door. I wiped my wet hands on the kitchen towel and walked to the door. I looked through the hole and saw Oscar. I swung the door open and raised an eyebrow. He walked past me, into the living room. "What are you doing here?" I hummed as I watched him enter the kitchen. "I'm here for Rico. Not you, chiquita. Chill. Not everything's about you." I rolled my eyes and scoffed. "Right."

"Hey Oscar!" The black haired boy shouted excitedly. "What's up, homebrecito? (little man), you want to get some ice cream?" He jumped up from the couch and ran over to him. "Yes, yes, yes!" He excitedly shrieked.

"So you're just gonna come here and steal my food and Rico?" I asked trying to sound unbothered. "Yeah. Got a problem with that chiquita?" I shook my head. "Totally fine with that, cholo." Rico tugged on Oscar's shirt. He looked down. "Can Sindya come with?" He questioned with a pout staining his lips. "Her?" Oscar asked in utter surprise.

"Yes, me. I would love to go with you, Rico. Let's go!" He grabbed me by my hand and dragged me out of the house.

"Why do you two hate each other?" The dark haired boy questioned while eyeing us with curiosity looming in his eyes. Oscar and I exchanged awkward looks. "I don't hate her. I just don't like her." He nonchalantly retorted. "Same over here." I spoke. "But don't you believe in love then? My mother always said that love is the flower of life and it always blossoms unexpectedly."

"Homebrecito, those are some big words you have there." He picked the little boy up. "I do believe in love.. but I'm just not interested in it right now." He explained. "Why not?" Rico asked while licking his ice cream. He sighed. "I have to take care of my family, Rico. Women always want all your attention and I just can't give that right now." I softly scoffed. "I beg to differ. A real woman who loves you truely, will help you with whatever you're doing. She will let you do your thing. Of course she will want attention, but we women aren't obsessed with you guys. It's not like we can't function properly without you."

Oscar chuckled. "And what do you know about that? Being a real woman?" Another scoff escaped from between my lips. "I'm gonna act like that didn't hurt and just ignore you.. like a real woman would."

As soon as I dropped Rico off at Ruby's house, I met Ruby's cousin. Her parents had been deported from Mexico, so she had no choice but to stay with Ruby's family. I also noticed the crush he had on her. He kept staring at her in amazement. Even if she did the bare minimum, he would pretend like she was the most occupied person in the world.

"You like her huh?" I asked, grinning. "How could I not?! She's like a fallen angel from heaven! She's like a tall glass of cold water on a hot summer night. She's the fake ID to my teenage being. She's-"

"Okay, I get it!" I shrieked, cutting him off. "Leave the boy alone. He finally got himself a ruca." I heard Oscar behind me tease. Ruby yelped and moved closer to me. "What.. is he doing here?" He questioned, fear lacing onto his words. "He, Rico and I had a little play date. He joined me to drop him off."

"Spooky, the most feared man in Freeridge, had a play date!?" He queried in confusion. I nodded.

He glanced at me with betrayal looming in his eyes. "Do you like Spooky?!" He whisper-yelled. "What!? No! Do I look like a niña estúpida (stupid girl)?" He shrugged, earning a slap on his arm from me. "No! I don't and never will date a cholo so get that out of your tiny mind." He pinched his lips together. "No need to be so rude. Well, I'm going back to accompany my wife, Olivia. Oh yeah.. and call me Ruben from now on." He chimed as he unbuttoned the top of his shirt.
