chapter 13 ~Meri~

After dinner I walk to the greenhouse and sit in the middle of the room. I take a deep breath and close my eyes. I can sense the life of the plants and which ones need a little more water. I softly smile as I sense another presence. "Hey pidge, what's up?" I open my eyes and see her, looking at me surprised. "How did yo- nevermind" pidge smiles at me. "So.." I get up and start watering certain plants. "We're gonna watch a movie, want to come?" I nod, and she smiles and walks back to the mansion. I put everything back in its place, and follow her. As I walk into the movie room I notice the couples cuddling. Hunk with shay, pidge goes to sit with Allura, Keith with lance, and poor shiro is just hugging his pillow. I sit down with ciel and notice Cosette going to shiro. She sits in his lap and falls asleep on him. "Look, shiro finally has someone to cuddle" Keith teases as he leans back onto lance. Everyone laughs but quiets down as soon as the movie starts.

{1 hour later}

A guard walks in and everyone quiets down. "Lady Meri, someone is here declaring that they are related to you." I nod and get up, everyone else gets up. "You guys don't have to come along if you don't want to." Shiro just smiles at me. "We want to go, if that's okay" I nod and walk outside. There I see someone with their head down, their mint hair covering their face, being held down by 3 guards. "Who are you?" I hear Rudy say as he walks out to the person. "Me? I'm Meris relative, and an old friend." The person looks up, their turquoise eyes twinkling. "What's your name?" Shiro says as he stands defensively, making sure that Cosette is safe in his arms. (Let's pretend he got a prosthetic hand made by alteans, k?) "My name, my new name is Sage but I use to go as a different name. I use to be " her hair starts turning black. "I use to be called Evin Blood" I groan and fall down, memories of a girl with black hair and turquoise eyes flood in. Memories of her protecting us, and how she questioned her sexuality and gender, which angered my father.
FLASHBACK
"But dad I'm not even sure if I'm a girl!" Evin yelled as she started crying. "What do you mean that you don't know, you are a girl!" My father yelled as he slapped her. I wince I shouldn't be here I sneak past them and run to Rudy.

"Evin..." My head stops hurting and I stand up. I look at Rudy and see him slowly walk to her. "I don't go by that name anymore." She gets up. "Let me properly introduce myself, hi I'm Sage Barin, I'm non-binary" sage smiles at us as her hair turns back to mint. Rudy tackles them. "You're back...You're really back!" Sage giggles. "Wow I'm surprised you missed me, did Mr. Emo finally get emotions?" Rudy rolls his eyes and stands up. "Yep its definitely you" sage looks at me. "Meri...you really grew up, I'm so happy to finally see you again" I smile and hug them. "You dumbass, where have you been?!" They just laugh. "I've been trying to figure myself out. And now that I have, I decided to visit you guys." They smile and look at everyone. I introduce everyone to sage and after they get to know each other Sage look at me. "So ciel... You're my sisters husband... Well you haven't passed my test so let's go." Sage walks into the mansion and everyone follows them, confused on what's happening. "How are you with kids?" Sage asks as they look back at ciel. "I uh... I love children" ciel says as he looks at me confused "hmm... How good are you at fighting." Sage walks to to a certain hallway. Oh no they walk to a room and open it. In there, there's a room with many obstacles. One on how to take care of a child, with a robot kid, a fighting rink, a dancing part, and lastly a pool. "Pick up the baby robot and as soon as you do, it'll start." Ciel nods and picks up the robot baby. As soon as he does it starts crying. He realizes that it needs to be feed, so he hastily makes the formula and gives it to the baby. He should do okay, I've been preparing him for this, but I thought Rudy would put him to the test, not sage. The baby quiets down and ciel realizes it closes its eyes. He lays it down on a crib but as soon as he does sage grabs the baby and throws it to the fighting rink. Before it hits the floor ciel runs, jumps and catches the baby. "Meri go in" sage smiles at me. "Trouble twins" I nod take off my dress, revealing a crop top and shorts. "Wha-"I climb in and smirk at ciel. "Let's go" I run to him and take the baby. Ciel tries to take it back but I spin away. I giggle and throw it back to him. He catches it and looks at me weirdly. "you got this Meri!" Pidge yells as she smirks. Everyone looks at her confused. "What, she's obviously gonna win." Lance scoffs "no she is not, ciel is" Allura and coran agree with him. The others scoff. Ciel just sighs. "We don't have t-" before he finishes sage was able to sweep him, making him lose his balance. Almost making him drop the robot. "You can leave once you drop the baby, but if you do, you can't be with my sis" sage smirks at him as ciel stands up. "The only way to escape this level is to get the baby to the dance floor." I say as I smile at him. Ciel nods and runs to the end. I grab the center of his shirt and push him down to the floor. "Sorry babe, can't let you go that easily" I smile as he stands back up. "Fine" everyone cheers as they start placing bets. "Can I get help? Since you got Meri?" He asks as he looks at sage, Sage nods. "I want Pidge's help." Pidge looks at him surprised yet climbs in. Ciel whispers something to pidge and she nods. "Ready?" Ciel nods and immediately sage punches him. Ciel groans and punches them. Sage growls and pushes him back. I punch ciel but he dodges. I smirk at him, confusing him and kiss him. He kisses back giving me the chance to hit him where it hurts with my knee. He groans and immediately pulls back. Good thing I didn't hit him too hard, just hard enough to distract him ciel gets back up and throws the baby like a football. I hear a thud, yet no baby screaming. Is the baby broken? I turn around and see pidge, holding the baby. "Well shit" I smile at ciel and kiss his cheek. "Go" ciel nods and climbs out of the rink onto the dance floor. Pidge passes him the baby and walks back to the others. Sage smiles at me "you got a good one this time" I smile and look at the others. I see pidge frowning as Allura comforts her. I look at the dance floor and notice sage, walking onto it and playing music. "Let's dance" immediately she grabs Ciel's hand and spins him around. Ciel tries his best not to fall, and to not drop the baby. Everyone laughs as sage forces ciel to dance, and he tries his best to keep up.finally sage grabs the baby and throws it at the pool."don't let it touch the water or it'll cry~" ciel runs to the pool and jumps in, grabbing the baby And holding it in the air with one hand. Everything is silent, and then everyone starts cheering. Rudy smirks, "good job, nobody except you and this girl have passed it" ciel puts the baby in its crib. "So am I approved?" Sage laughs. "Yeah, you are" I look outside and realize that its night time. "We should go to bed. Its late" everyone nods and go their own way. "Is it okay if I stay?" Sage asks as they smile. I giggle and nod. "Of course! Rudy show them their room" Rudy nods and leads sage to their room. I hold Ciel's hand and smile."what I don't get a hug?" Ciel smirks at me"don't yo-" ciel picks me up bridal style and holds me close. "Ciel" I whine as I try to push him away, but give up. Ciel chuckles and drops me on the bed. "I'm gonna go shower, you should go to sleep" ciel kisses me, then walks to the bathroom. I blush and change into pajamas. I then drift off to sleep.
