party fervor

Will you stay even when my party ends?
When the lights are dim and it's dark,
And when everyone has left,
Will you stay with me when the party ends?
Will you help me clean the floor,
The mats which are soaking with
Yesterday's beer, lust and chaos?
Will you help me sweep off
The confetti of my gone dreams and love?
Will you help me set the furniture
The way it was, the way I used to like,
And then throw the pricking pieces of
My broken bones and rotting flesh in the dustbin?
Tell me if you'd stay with me when the party ends.
We'd be tired from the cleaning
And just gaze at the stars outside
And realise how no glitter or gold could
Outshine the galaxies in each other's eyes.
And if your mama allows you,
You can stay with me till dawn and
I'd make you a coffee, warm with
New hopes, new dreams and a healed soul.
