ESME'S POV
MONDAY 23rd OCTOBER 2017
I had been avoiding Wren's continuous texts all weekend asking me what was wrong and if he had done anything wrong and had spent the weekend either in my bedroom or helping Kyle study Law. "Oh turn up this absolute banger," I joked with Kyle and turned up the radio when Miley Cyrus's Party in The USA came on and Kyle couldn't help but laugh at me.
"All I see is stilettos, I guess I never got the memo," I dramatically basically yelled to the song and pointed at Kyle. He was laughing and trying to watch me whilst also navigating his way to school.
"Where was this Esme when we first met?" He smirked at me.
"She was hiding behind crippling anxiety," I rolled my eyes. "If you saw this Esme on that first day, would you have stuck around?" I joked and then followed it up with a terribly awesome dance move. Kyle snorted and nudged my arm when I danced to the music as we pulled into the school car park and he parked up in the nearest spot.
"We have our Law test today so lets see if your teaching is as good as you claim it is," Kyle winked at me as he climbed out of the car. I was only a few seconds behind him as I pulled my bag onto my shoulder and followed behind him.
"Oh I know what my brain is capable of and it can work miracles," I poked his side and he grinned at me.
"Hey Pierce," I looked up to see one of his unfamiliar friends nodding him over, Kyle didn't seem to start moving and so the group began to move towards him. He subconsciously stepped away from me and I looked over at him with threaded eyebrows, and then saw that Kane was part of the group coming and so I groaned internally. "Are you ignoring me dude?"
"Course not mate," Kyle replied coolly.
"Fancy coming for a smoke? We're ditching first," the guy smirked at him. I knew that Kyle's test was first period and so I watched as he shook his head.
"Nah, it's cool. I'll catch up with you later," Kyle nodded back. The guy took his answer with a nod and then stalked off with his group following him, Kane looked over at me and threw a wink over before he turned away. I shuddered.
"Are you embarrassed of me?' I asked aloud and he glanced down at me.
"What?" He asked.
"You stepped away from me when they came over, do you not want them to think you like me or something?" I didn't know if it was my anxiety that was picking up on those small details or if my subconscious was screaming at me to back away from the bad boy.
