A week later, I get ready for my date with Lonzo.

"Rain, Danni, I'm on my way to my date!" I say on my way out the door.

"Hold on, Lani." Rain says walking towards me.

"Yes?" I asked.

Rain looks me up and down.

"Who are you going out with?" Rain asked.

"He's this boy- that I met!" I say.

"This boy by the name of?" Rain asked.

"Zo,"

"What is his number in case I have to reach him?" Rain asked.

"Oh my goodness, stop being such a mom!" Danni says walking towards us.

"Shut up. For all we now this guy could be a serial killer!" Rain says raking out her phone.

"Trust me, he's not!" Danni says winking at me.

I smile at her. "See, Danni knows him."

"Number now!" Rain demands.

"Okay fine, it's (323) 654- 3210!"

Rain repeats the number to me.

"Okay, have fun be safe!" Rain says pushing me out the front door.

DANNI

"So, how do you know this boy?" Rain asked me.

I shrug. "I forgot how we met, but we've met!" I smile at my sister. 

"How come you never go on dates?" Rain asked.

"I don't have any boys who ask me out!"

"You need to go find one boy who'll take you out so I don't have to stress over Lani. I know she's probably out with some guy who's older than her, but if I tell her no, she'll just sneak out like she used to do!" Rain looks at me. "But if you have a guy that'll take you out, you could watch over her."

I laugh. "So I'd spy on her?"

"No, you'd watch her without her knowing that you're watching her!" Rain says.

I giggle and I nod my head. "Yeah, so spying."

"Shut up!" Rain laughs.

I laugh too.

"Mabey I'll go find a date," I smile to myself.

LANI

I catch an Uber to Lonzo's house and once I make it there, I'm shocked.

This is the biggest house I've ever seen!

I knock on the door and I hear it unlock.

I'm greeted by a guy who looks a little bit like Lonzo, but he is way cuter.

"Hey," the guy says.

"Hello, um I'm looking for Lonzo!"

The guy looks at me confused.

"Lonzo...who is Lonzo?" He asked.

"Oh, I guess I have the wrong house-"

"-Gelo stop fucking with her!" I hear a familiar voice say.

LaMelo comes into the doorway and pushes the guy out of the way.

"Come in," LaMelo says.

I walk inside of the house and I look at the unfamiliar guy who opened the door for me.

"This is LiAngelo, my other older brother!" LaMelo says.

"Lani," I do a shy little wave.

LaMelo goes on his phone.

A few minutes later, Lonzo walks into the room.

"Hey," he smiles while giving me a hug.

"Hi," I hug him back.

"Did you bring extra clothes?" Lonzo asked.

I shake my head no.

"Why would I need extra clothes?"

"Aren't you staying the night?"

"I wasn't planning on it, no." I reply.

"Oh, I can't take you back home until after my practice tomorrow!"

"He's kidnapping you Lani!" LaMelo shouts. "Run while you can!"
