A.k.a : Dear People who hate Labels.

Humans love naming things.
Divine, for example, is when you're blasted high.
Fanah, is the self obliteration under an Arabian sky
Phena, is the flecks of foam at the corners of a mouth gone dry.
Humans, love naming things.

These names, these labels are words for things that be.
That are and that we can see
As a species we love to know that
What we can think about we can show.
Not by drawing pictures though that was once true,
But with simple phonetics I can explain to you.
The beauty of sitting under the shade of a mango tree.
Or the sensation of your lover's fingers on your lips, don't you see ?!
These aren't labels that we put to you and me,
They're names we give to what we feel.

Could you say that it is a label we give,
To war perhaps ?
How about death ?
Or, instead how about Hiraeth ?
Even perhaps, Love ?
Can you define them, in their entire girth, in a few words ?

I have never had stage fright, you know why ?
I could speak to you face to face, as comfortably as I do on stage.
Because my name is Kabir. And I know that what I call "I",
Means Glorious, or Victorious.
I know that what I call I, will be Glorious or Victorious,
Maybe not this time this instant or this moment or even this day
But I, because I call myself I, will be in some way.

Perhaps, that's just bragging, or wishful thinking but,
Maybe if we bothered to look at the word's meaning,
Instead of the accompanying entry, on the Oxford English dictionary,
We'd find that we, love naming things as much as our ancestors did,
Not to label what we are or might be,
But to explain who we are, and what we feel.
