Y/N POV
I wake up to the smell of coffee downstairs. Dad must be awake. I walk downstairs in my pyjamas since no one will care, and grab my water bottle from my bedside table. There's no one here except dad, Virgil, Logan, Patton, and Roman-- provided he's not getting his "much needed" beauty rest to "keep him looking fab". Plus, I need something to eat. Hopefully, Patton is cooking today. I need some of my (favourite breakfast food) right now.
I walk down to the kitchen with Toby and see that Patton is the only one awake.
"'Sup, padre?" I say to Patton.
"Oh, good morning, Y/N," Patton says as I get Toby's dog food from the cupboard. I hear sizzling coming from the cooker. Patton is making must be cooking some extra food in advance for this week. (A/N: Does anyone else have a family member who always cooks food in advance? My mum always likes to make sure that she has something prepared in case we get too busy, but I don't know anyone who does that. Tell me in the comments!)
"Why do you always cook extra food in advance like that?" I ask.
"Why do you call me 'padre' when you're taking French courses?" Patton retorts.
"Because I can." I pause for a moment. "It's also the only Spanish word I know."
"Well, I cook in advance simply because it makes things easier on me."
"Fair enough." I sit at the counter and stare out the window. It's raining right now. It's not very unusual for it to rain here, but it has been raining more than usual. (A/N: I literally research weather patterns and other random stuff like that just so my fanfictions are [mostly] accurate. There's an average of 50 inches of rain per year in Gainesville, Florida, and 39 inches per year is the average in America. The things I learn because of you guys. [*starts signing* What can I say except you're welcome])
I always love to watch the rain. It's calming and relaxing to listen to. The tapping of the rain on the window pane blends with the sounds of breakfast sizzling in the pan, which sounds like an non-instrumental euphony in my ears.
I get so lost in my thoughts while looking at the rain drops glide down the glass that I don't notice Patton putting a plate of food in front of me.
"Y/N, are you okay?" Patton asks.
"Hmm? Oh, yeah. I'm okay. Just lost in thought." I reply.
"Okay. Eat your food while it's hot! You have to keep your energy up for the day!"
"Okay, Padre."
Patton chuckles lightly to himself. I stare out the window while I eat my breakfast. The grey clouds darken the sky slightly, making it seem a lot earlier in the morning than it actually is.
Suddenly, I hear a knock on the door.
"Here, kiddo." Patton slides a (favourite colour) tumbler over to me with (favourite coffee drink) in it. "Something to keep you going."
I quickly run to the fridge and fill my water bottle with water before grabbing my tumbler. I slide the water bottle in my backpack, sling it over my shoulder, and head out.
I answer the door and I see Xavier standing before me along with Jason and F/N.
"Bye, padre! Tell dad that I left for school! Love you!" I say.
"Okay, Y/N. Have a good day!"
I close the door behind me, lock it, and slip my house key in my bag.
"Ready to hit the mall?" Xavier asks.
"Heck yeah!" I reply.
"Well, lets go! We don't have all day!" F/N says.
