At last, today is the day when I cheer while others mourn

you cheer

A shadow keeping watch above; the sea of black below

So pathetically forlorn.

Why so sad? I wonder. Aren't they happy you are happy?

Selfish, arrogant, clingy humanity

Cannot comprehend their own loved ones.

Love is felt, not seen, they said to me

Not kept, rather to trust is key

Yet the heart cannot be shared; one's body needs it to survive

Pick the lock, open, claim it as yours

And blood shall spill.

Love is a jewel, molded by lust

Treasured by one, not two

Until the robber solves you.

Who are you?

who were you?

You should be proud, like me.

I loved you each day.

I kept our Ruby in the crook of my arms

Till your false melody sang her to sleep—

You were a unlucky charm.

I sang you to sleep

To dream of the forever abyss

Did you hear me this morning, when I visited?

I stroked your head, your cheekbones, so perfectly sculpted

by me

You're my work of art;

So beautiful

So lifeless as rock

A mirror

I wanted you to stand tall for onlookers to see

make me noticed

To appreciate

me

To admire

us.

But alas, our concerns are not shared

Just wait, class will start, they shall learn.

I blow a kiss goodbye

At the woman I've poured so much love

labor

Into, my entire life

death

As you sink slowly into the dirt

Swaddled with linen sheets-

I have accomplished my feat.

I will

forever

hold onto you.
