The mold cracks

And breaks

Into different parts of a whole

Two hands cradle the new world

Pieces are arranged

With celestial thought

Shaping clay and water

Into life.

Underneath

Peeling skin

Magma murmurs to the world above

"Do not be afraid, have faith in your hearts"

A elder's words to the brave sailors of this new planet

As mountains grow

And tides kiss land

Green fingers emerge from the mud

Once again, beauty will conquer all.

The darkness of creation

The spark of destruction

All culminate into a peak

So high it pierces the clouds

So sharp it dives deep underground

As wings ride the eastern wind

Dancing

Descending

Daring to take one more detour

Until we make landfall

And suddenly

The world is complete.

It's been some time since I wrote free form poetry, hasn't it? This one was a bit of fresh air from my usual pattern. Funny thing is, back when I was beginning to write poetry free form was what worked for me best. You could probably see it in the earlier poems of this collection. Sometimes I wonder that in general, which form suits my style better.
