Sometimes I dream of you

Sometimes I dream of you

In a white dress

Smiling sadly as you knew your fate

Sometimes I dream of darkness

And I dread the void I plunged you into.

Do you hate me? Do you still love me?

Are you filled with feelings so conflicted you could only stare up at the sky, with glassy eyes, as you bled in my arms?

I can't find comfort, knowing now, you're beyond pain

Because jealously still writhes in me

Like an unforgiving punishment

While you sleep, oblivious to

The mourning doves crying in lament

And if I look up, ravens watch me from the mulberry tree

Filling my chest with emptiness

A thousand knives lodged in my bones.

Internal bleeding on both sides

Our eyes stare into space

Hoping we can breathe without sobbing

Wishing it'll all get better soon

Intertwine our fingers and watch the world go on

With peace, with quiet, with an understanding of each other's pain.
