Eyes meet eyes
One bright, the other
Barely alive
Cold falls
Slowly, quietly
It lands
Perhaps romance
Would've been
Different
But no, only
This kind of
Bond
Young yet
Strong
Can weave
Through the
Cracks
And hug
The ember
Drowning
Inside.
