I grow in leaps and bounds
You tell me to take it step by step, but
I can't help but disappear in the field
While you like to take it
Nice and slow.
It's like we're in two different worlds
For me, it's a cookie cutter factory
Where one size must fit me, or else
I'm shipped off to be scrapped
But in your mind deadlines don't exist
Instead of clocks it's freedom that insists
For identity to thrive.
I'm bound to die
If I ever take your advice, so
Please understand
We don't live in the
Same space and time
Cause while you're happy to take things
At the moment
I'm chasing my future
That someone else has stolen.
