i thought nothing of it, the shiny coin lifting me into the spotlight. i thought, like any child, that it was my chance to shine.
and shine i did. with dancing silver upon velvet, each of my moves clicked into place. everything felt right. perfect. for some time, i saw the world in all of its colours while keeping to my favourite.
but
i should have known
that light never shone on me. and should the angels visit, i would not glow, but cast a blinding glare.
