The way you might take my words:
With a practiced smile
Counting down the time
And choosing what to cut out of the big picture.
After
Sometimes I put on a filter
To match the weather's mood
The way you might cover up yours
Particularly on days
When the sun makes the shadows
Hide in broad daylight.
One day you had to explain what photons were
You said, "They're particles of light
Misplaced between the shells of the material world
The farther from home
A different shade of emotion they become."
Regardless
Or because of it
You are
My photon star
No flash mode is needed
To chase the darkness away
When I revolve around your warmth and scars
So lost in our own world.
I may a fool
For trusting you so much
May flowers do bloom under your light, though
So I know my camera will be fine
As long as I'm underneath your rainbow.
