23. what happened to us?

Shawn my best friend has been on tour for 5 months now and hasn't messaged me once. I miss him but anytime I message him he reads it doesn't reply.
About a week ago I got a message off Brian.

Brian😺~ hey Y/N it's Shawn's birthday next week and I was wondering whether you would like to surprise him because you haven't seen or talked to him in five months and I know that he misses you so will you come to surprise him please?

Y/N ☺~ yeah I would love too.

We text me about the details and everything and we made sure that he wouldn't find out and contacted Andrew so he knew and could help me get out to Amsterdam.

A week later......

Today is the day I am going to surprise Shawn on his birthday. I am really nervous to see him again. I mean what if he doesn't want to see me and that's why he hasn't been talking to me? There are so many things that could possibly go wrong.

I get off the plane and I see Brian.

"Hey Y/N are you ready to see Shawn?"

"Ummm....Yeah I think so."

"Ok let's go then."

You get to the hotel and Brian says to everyone.

"Guess who I found?"

That's my cue to walk in so I do. Shawn looks shocked but looks happy. He runs over and pulls me in for a hug.
 
"Hi." I say.

"Hey can I talk to you?"

"Sure Shawn."

So we walk into his room and he closes the door.

"Look I'm sorry I've ignored you for the past five months I've been really busy."

"Shawn don't lie to me tell me the real reason."

"Fine I left without saying goodbye because it was too hard for me because your my best friend but I love you more than I should. You knew I was leaving and I left before you could say goodbye and didn't respond to you because I thought it would be better that way."

"Better that way are you kidding me! Shawn you hurt me when you left without saying goodbye because we always say goodbye and I knew you were going to be home for a year and I love you more than I should to so that made it even worse when you left. I have missed you like crazy. I mean what happened to us? We were so close tell each other everything and then you do this and it hurts Shawn." A year has fallen down my cheek by now and I notice that he's started crying too.

"Y/N I thought it would easier because I would have a year without seeing your beautiful face and being able to cuddle up to you and have our movie night. I have missed you like crazy and have thought about nothing else but you about how I should have asked you out before I left but me being me I chickened out again and didn't and I have regretted that decision so much because I am in love with you. The reason I didn't respond to you because I thought this was a crush I could get over but it's so much more than that because I'm head over heels in love with that's the reason Ok!"

I was shocked. He starts talking again but I cut him off.

"Shawn?"

"Yeah?"

"Just shut up and kiss me."

He does what I say and pulls me close to him and leans in this kiss is so full of passion and isn't like any other kiss I have had before this one is full of love. We both pull away.

"I love you so much Y/N be mine?"

"Yes I will and I love you so much too."
