I'm finishing off my makeup when I get a phone call. It's Hayley. I pick up my mobile.

"Hello?" I answer.

"Layla it's Jake."

"Oh? Hey." I say surprised.

"I'm calling about tonight. Hayley mentioned the guy you work with will be there. Is that right?"

"Yeah, he invited me and Marcus out."

"Do you really think that's wise? Considering all that stuff I sent you about him. I don't want Hayley around him. Isn't working with him enough? I thought you wanted him fired?"

"He says none of it's true..." I say lowering my voice incase Marcus over hears.

"Yeah he would say that. I don't think it's a good idea. I'd rather not be around someone like him."

"I invited you and Hayley to keep me company. I'm not staying around him either. I still want him fired, but it didn't go to plan."

He sighs.

"I've tried to make up excuses but Hayley isn't having any of it. She wants to see you."

"Sorry, but really it will be ok. We won't be around Michael much. Marcus will stay with him."

"I just can't get all that stuff out of my head about him. I don't know what he's capable of."

"I know." I sigh. "I feel the same..."

"Then why are you going tonight?"

Because Michael is blackmailing me and I'm scared of what he might say to Marcus... or show Marcus.

"Marcus wanted me to go."

"Ok, but I'm not happy about this..."

"You don't need to be worried. It will be fine."

"Hmm. I got to go. Hayley wants me to bath Zack before my mum comes to pick him up. I'll see you later. Oh yeah, where are we meeting you?"

"Its a club called on the rocks. We'll be there for 9ish."

"Ok, see you soon."

"Bye."

We hang up. A little while later me and Marcus order a taxi for 8:30 and head out. We get dropped off at the club and line up outside. I haven't been clubbing in a long time. We can hear the music from outside and everyone is talking loudly.

"I'll text Michael, and let him know we are lined up outside." Marcus says taking his phone out.

I nod. A few minutes later Michael comes out from the club. I didn't realise he was already in there. He walks past the bouncers and locks eye contact with me as he walks towards us. A few women in front of us look twice at Michael as he walks past everyone, checking him out. He's wearing a white top, with a black leather jacket and black trousers.

"Hey." Michael motions us to walk over to him.

"Hey." Marcus says as I walk next to him, going over to Michael.

"I know the owner, we can go straight in." Michael says walking us past the bouncers.

"Nice." Marcus smiles.

Michael opens the door and let's me and Marcus walk through first. Michael smiles at me as he watches me walk past him. I show a quick smile.

"What made you change your mind?" Michael asks me, shouting over the music.

"I had nothing better to do." I shrug.

He smirks. Me and Marcus push past people as we follow him up some stairs. It's a little bit quieter up here.
