I stare at the screen in anticipation. My heart is beating so fast. The nurse scans over my belly until I hear the noise I've been wanting to hear for weeks. I let out a sigh of relief. It's music to my ears. Tears roll down my face as I look at my baby on the screen. Hayley squeezes my hand. I look at her and she looks down at me with a huge smile. She quickly wipes away a tear.

"There's your babys heartbeat." The nurse smiles.

"Is everything ok?" I ask through my shaky voice.

"Yeah, everything is fine." The nurse nods.

"Thank God." I smile. "There's a little heartbeat inside of me." I let out a soft laugh.

"Its beautiful Lay." Hayley smiles. "This is making me all broody."

We giggle. I still can't get my head around that there's a baby growing inside of me. It's crazy! I already love him or her to bits.

"It doesn't look like a little blob any more."

"Your baby is developing fine." She smiles. "Would you like me to print off a picture?"

"Yeah." I smile widely.

She presses some buttons and then let's me sit up. I'm so happy, but it's kind of bitter sweet. I just can't get Michael out of my head, and wish he was here to see all of this with me. I hope he is ok. I haven't heard anything from the police yet, so I guess they are still investigating. We leave the room and a few minutes later the nurse comes out with my scan.

"Thank you." I smile.

"I've booked you in to come back in 4 weeks time. Take care of yourself, and I'll see you soon."

"I will, thank you so much." I smile.

Me and Hayley get in the elevator, making our way down to the ground floor.

"I wish Michael was here." I say staring at the scan.

"I know." My sister looks at me, and then looks at the scan. "Haven't you heard from the police yet?"

"No." I shake my head. "Stacey said she would go to the police and testify against Marcus. They should have enough evidence now."

"You should hear something soon then." She nods.

We get back to her car and sit inside. My mobile starts ringing. I look at it and see it's my lawyer.

"Hello?" I answer.

"Hi Mrs Daniels, how are you?"

"Hi Fred, I'm good thanks. Is there anything on Michael yet?"

"Uh well actually, I'd like to talk to you about Marcus first."

"Ok.."

"He's going to court tomorrow."

"That's great news." I smile.

"We have plenty of evidence on him, so the verdict won't be dragged out. He's guilty, no doubt about it. He'll only be in court for a couple of days."

"Do I have to be there?"

"Only if you want to, and if you want to testify."

"I don't think I can face seeing him again. I don't want to put any more stress on myself."

"Of course not. If you decide not to come I'll call you and let you know the outcome."

"Thanks, and what about Michael?"

"He got found guilty of having and dealing drugs today..."

"Today?! Why has no one told me about this?!"
