One year, one year, and three months have gone by since I made the biggest mistake of my life.  It's been one year and three months since I was kicked out of my last pack, and had to go find a new one.

We deserved to be kicked out...... my wolf whispered to me.

I know.  I shouldn't have done what I did.  I was drunk, and I made a mistake.

We're just lucky that this pack was willing to take us.

They wouldn't have if we'd told them the whole story, I replied as I finished wrapping up the little kid's broken arm.

"There you go," I told him smiling, "It'll be better in no time."

He nodded, and wiped the last of his tears away before giving me a hug.

"Doc!" someone shouted running through the door to the pack house, "Doc! I have something to tell you!  You're never going to believe this!"

"Greg?" I questioned confused, "What's going on?"

"Dude," he said panting as if he'd run the whole way from his pack, "You're never going to believe who I saw."

"What?"

"Do you remember that girl who got you kicked out of your last pack?"

"It wasn't her f.."

"I know, I know.  It was all your fault, and you shouldn't have done what you did, and blah, blah, blah.  Not the point!  You remember her?"

"Of course," I mumbled, not really liking being reminded about it aloud.

"She was at my last pack picnic!"

"How was she?" I asked, worried.

"Fine, she's dating the pack beta, Victor," he said in a rush, "Not the point!  You're not going to believe who she had with her!"

"Abbie?" I questioned.

"Well, yeah, but there was someone else!  She had a little boy.  Really cute, looked just like her."

Oh, good.  She isn't too......

Doesn't make what we did any better.  Now hush, he's still talking, and I'm sure there's a point to this.

"The only thing about him that was too different from her were his eyes.  They were silver, with blue flecks!  It only took a few seconds to realize where I'd seen those eyes before."

"What?" I asked shocked.

"Doc, you're a daddy!"

My mind went blank as I stared at Greg.

"Doc?" he asked sounding concerned, (for good reason), "Doc?  Aren't you happy about that?  Come on man, snap out of it!"

After a few more seconds of me just staring, he got up, and walked over to the sink.  I didn't pay attention to what he was doing, until I felt the cold water splashing over my hair, and running down the back of my shirt.

"Doc?" he asked again, "Are you okay?"

"I just screwed up the rest of her life," I whispered, brokenly, "She's never going to be able to look at him, and not think of me."

"But you have a son!"

We shouldn't......

"Yeah, I have a son.  Do you remember how I got that son?"
