I pulled Sarah into my arms with tears flowing down my cheeks, and a hiccuping sob building in my throat. I leaned down to give her the mark that would mark her as mine, and change her into a werewolf.

This has to fix her. The mark saved Elizabeth. It has to do the same for Sarah.

Sarah's eyes fluttered open slightly, and as the recognition flooded into her features, I could see a fierce determination enter them too.

"Hayden," she commanded me.

I looked up to the crib that was sitting in the corner, and felt a mixture of anger and despair sweep through me.

Our son is gone, my wolf snarled in my head, he is gone, and our mate is hurt.

We need to save Sarah, but who knows what's happening to Hayden.

"Save Hayden, or I will haunt you for the rest of your life," Sarah gasped out.

I could feel the tears start to flow faster as a little blood started to trickle out of her mouth, "There will be no haunting. For you to haunt me you would have to be.... gone... and I won't let that happen.  I won't let you leave me."

"Abbie."

I knew what she meant by that statement. She wants me to call Abbie so she can take Sarah to the hospital, while I go get Hayden.

"Now."

Should I?

Yes, Abbie can get her to a hospital almost as fast as we can, better yet, she's at the pack house, she can bring the pack doctor, but if we don't go get Hayden now we might not be able to find him. Sarah would kill us, and I would kill you.

I nodded sharply once and pulled my cell phone out.

Abbie should be with Zander.

I dialed Zander's number, and swore when he didn't answer. I redialed, and gave a sigh of relief when he picked up after the second ring.

"What?" he asked in annoyed voice.

"I need you to get the pack doctor, and come back to Sarah's house. I'm going to go get Hayden," I told him in my most commanding voice.

"Wait. Where's...." I hung up on him, there wasn't time for this.

I started to follow my nose, out the window and down the street.

The smell was strong until I was a few blocks away. After that it just cut off. A low growl worked its way out of my throat in frustration.

I think I recognize the scent with Hayden's.

You're right, but where?

It took us a minute, but finally we realized why it was so familiar.

That guy that Greg brought to our picnic....

As good a place as any to start.

We ran back to Sarah's house, and got the car.  It killed us to know that we were going backward, but we both knew that it would be faster to drive, and we really didn't have time to do anything except what would work the fastest.

That's how I ended up going about 80 down streets with a 40 mph speed limit.  It wasn't dangerous.  My wolf was really close to the front of my mind, speeding up my reaction times and enhancing my vision.  I wasn't going to crash.  Besides, it was about midnight.  The people who are totally innocent are already asleep.
