I have never felt such happiness before. Actually, I think bliss word be a better word for what I'm feeling right now. She knew my secret, and she still wanted to give me a chance. However, no matter how much I wanted to be with her right now, I had to make a phone call home. It was time for me to update then pack, more specifically, mom and dad. So I had mind linked Jake, so Cindy could sort out her thoughts about their friendship since she had her doubts earlier when we talked. Normally, I would have felt jealous of her being alone with him, but Jake was one of the few people I trusted entirely.

"Ryan, how are you honey, you coming home soon, everyone misses you" my mom said as soon as she had answered my call.

"Actually, I am, and I won't be alone either" I said and could feel my heart swell with happiness again as I thought of Cindy. I can't believe this is real.

"Wait, do you mean...Josh!" I heard her yell at my dad, probably have happy tears in her eyes right now. "Ryan, you're on speaker with me and your dad" she said happily.

"As I was saying, I won't be returning home alone, Cindy, my mate, will be coming with me" I announced.

"Oh, Josh, did you hear. Our son has finally managed to get a hold of his mate, isn't this amazing!" she gushed.

"Son, this is fantastic news! The whole pack will be so happy on your behalf. How is Cindy anyway? Why don't you go get her and we can all talk?" he suggested.

"Dad, I've just told her about me, and she's human, I think we should just let her get used to the idea of werewolves before introducing her to my family, even over the phone" I answered.

"Oh please, just please let us talk to her, she must be such a lovely girl" mom pleaded with me.

"I'm sorry, but you will eventually get to meet her, just not now." I answered, instantly having a more protective edge to my voice.

"Alright son, we'll get it" my dad chuckled, probably recognizing my change of behavior. He must have been like that himself when he first met mom. "So is it okay with you if we inform the pack about this, and in how many days until you plan to return?" he asked.

"Yeah, it's okay, and I don't know exactly when yet, but I'll text you after I've talked with Cindy, we have a few things to sort out" I answered.

"Okay then, we leave you to it" he answered.

"Thanks, talk to you guys soon" I said and hung up.

I returned from my room and back into the living room to find Jake and Cindy talking. "So, everything good here?" I asked, sitting down beside her, placing my arm over her shoulders.

"Yeah" Cindy answered with a half-smile; "As long as it isn't anything else you guys are keeping a secret, I can say we're okay" she answered. Good. It would kind of suck if my mate and one of my best friends didn't get along.

"Yes, I admitted I was shady, but for the right reasons, so now she loves me" he winked at her playfully.

"Dude!" I exclaimed. I knew he was just playing, but still, she's my mate, not his.

"Don't worry, I'm just joking, but beware Cindy, that jealous behavior is what you're going to have to deal with from now on" he laughed. "Alright, I leave you two alone" he said and got up, leaving the hotel room.
