Serpent Love

I need to tell you something

"Where are we going pea?" I ask as he rides off

"Somewhere special to me." he says driving.

"Ok." I say with a smile cuddling into he's back as we ride to the quarry

"What are we doing at the quarry?"

"We are here to hang out."

"Ok." I say as he parks he's bike and Sweets leads us to a  picnic.

"What's all this?"

"It's our date. I'm sorry it's not that fancy." He says looking down at me

"It's ok. It's doesn't need to be." I say with a smile as I take a seat on the blanket.

"Can I ask you something?" He asks

"Of course."

"Why were you with him? He is obviously a terrible person."

"I confused my feelings for him with the harsh truth. I just thought he was a good person and I wanted to believe it. I wanted to believe it so bad so I kept justifying he's actions despite knowing the truth deep down. I was scared that if I left him he would hurt me more or Jug and I couldn't let that happen."

"If you don't mind me asking did you love him?"

"At one time I did. After awhile I stopped having feeling for him."

"And now?" Sweets asks

"I hate him. He is a horrible person and I deserve better. It took me a while to realize that but, it's the truth."

"You do deserve better Mariah."

"Thank you."

"I need to tell you something." Sweets says

"What is it?"

"I...I....I been coming something in for a really long time and I feel like o can trust you. So, I need you to know this. I need to get this off my chest." Sweets says

"Know what?"

"A few years ago I was madly in love with this girl."

"Ok."

"And she used me to get closer to Fangs."

"Oh Sweets, I'm so sorry."

"It's ok. Fangs reject her but after that day I made a promise to myself to never let myself fall in love again." Sweets says

"Oh.... why are you telling me this?" I ask looking down.

"Just thought you should know."

"Ok." I say as I looks around

"Because I think I'm breaking that promise to myself." He says as I look him in the eyes as someone comes running up to us.
