Chapter 15

Damien

“No,” rising from my chair, I hit Zack with a stern look. My approach had stopped him mid-sentence and he stared up at me with his mouth agape. “No way in hell. What would make you think I would allow that?” I snapped.

His mouth slapped closed and he glared at me, the icy eyes he had gotten from our mother narrowing. I returned the look, crossing my arms and leaning back against my desk.

After making sure Mallory was locked up tight, I begrudgingly made my way to my office. I knew he wanted something. Money, power, backup… considering some of the people he messed with, it wouldn’t have surprised me. But this was the last thing I expected.

“Oh I don’t know… maybe our blood relationship, brother.” He snapped back, standing as well. I glanced to Kane, who was leaned up against the wall. His arms were crossed and a blank expression dominated his face.

I turned back to my little brother, raising and eyebrow. “We may share blood, but there is no relationship.” I snorted, rolling my eyes.

Pursing his lips, he mauled over my words before raising his hands. “Okay, I can agree with that. But help a brother out.” he insisted.

“I said no, Zack. It’s not up for questioning.” I stated, putting my foot down. I was Alpha now, and even if I wasn’t, because of my age, he would have to listen.

Sadly, that didn’t seem to stop him from rolling his own eyes.

“Just because it isn’t up for questioning, doesn’t mean I’m not going to ask.” He chimed, slinking back into his chair. My jaw tightened; arrogant little brat.

“Okay, remind me again, why?” I sighed, running a hand down my face. He smirked and I shot him a glare.

“I’ve told you. I made a deal with someone and this is just me, holding up my end of the bargain.”

“By making him Alpha of his own pack?” I shot back. He nodded and I held back a groan.

This was ridiculous. What kind of idiot promises someone else a pack? Oh right; my idiot of a brother.

“And what did you get in return?” I asked. He had just so conveniently skipped over that while telling his story. He shifted in his chair, his eyes flickering around.
