Chapter 16

Mallory

“Now, don’t be difficult.” I scowled, throwing another pillow at his cocky face.

“I’m being difficult?” I asked, astonished. “I’m not the one who decided to ignore their ‘mate’” I snapped, air quoting the word.

“What was that you were doing five minutes ago then?” what irked me was the fact that he looked innocently curious.

“Payback!” I seethed. I could see he was shocked at my choice of words and used that as my opportunity. I launched myself of the bed and straight past Damien, heading for one thing; the door. I stumbled slightly as my feet made contact with the floor but managed to keep myself up right.

Inches away from the brass knob of freedom, however, I was stopped.

“Going somewhere?” Damien breathed in my ear, a smirk evident in his voice. I scowled, scratching at his caging arms. “Now, that’s not very nice.” He chided, lifting me up and dragging me towards the bed.

Despite my struggling, he laid me down and trapped me by wrapping the top blanket around me. I froze for a moment, slightly surprise. What in the hell…?

“Damien…” I started out cautiously.

“Hmm?” was his simple answer as he seemed to be trying to make sure I was wrapped up good and tight.

“Whatcha doin?” he looked up, his steel gray eyes meeting mine as he smirked.

“Making sure you’re comfortable.”

“Do I look comfortable?” I quizzed, making sure my face was contorted in discomfort.

“Well…” he trailed off, straightening. He surveyed me as I attempted to wiggle free. “Yes, actually you do.”

“Damien,” I snapped as I tugged at my left arm. “This is stupid! Let me go!” I instructed. My only answer was an annoying-yet sexy-chuckle.

“Maybe if you’re a good girl,” he mused. I scowled at him as he sat me up, letting me lean back against the head board. He stood over my while smirking, folding his arms.
